I thought I'd post this request to any aircraft developer that might be wondering of what aircraft to develop in the future. Specifically in the corporate world. And as you might guess from my name, why not the Piaggio P180? My job is as chief pilot of an aviation department in the US in which we have two P180s and a CL601, but hands down, my favorite plane I have ever flown is the P180. It is such a unique, quirky, fun aircraft to fly. Some call it the marmite airplane because of its looks, but I just call it the "Catfish". It is the fastest production turboprop in the industry with a cruise TAS of about 375-380 and a service ceiling of 41,000ft. It does not like to go slow with a final approach speed of about 125 knots, which for a turboprop, is fast. The interior is also extremely satisfying to the eye and also the comfort for the passengers is one of its main selling points. It is a very quiet cabin, mostly due to the engines being towards the rear of the plane... instead of like any other conventional turboprop (King Air) where the engines are up front. The cockpit avionics are standard Proline 21 for all Avanti II and Evo models. By far, its most popular selling point is its efficiency. The P180 burns around 80 gallons an hour total while flying at altitude and for the speed it can fly, that is an impressive number. It really is a wonderful plane to fly and I feel like it would be a fantastic addition to MSFS and one in which I know, if done correctly, many flight sim enthusiasts would thoroughly enjoy flying just as much as I do in the real world. One of the main reasons I am posting this is because I saw that the Shorts turboprop is about to be released and with a plethora of King Airs out there now for MSFS, Caravan, PC12, I wondered why this couldn't be a possibility one day too. Cheers!
