  1. Hello Guys! Have to confess I'm not a PrecipitFX customer (yet) but I'm certainly interested for the modest price. I have a quick question though... Does the package enhance the existing FSX touchdown tire smoke effects? As far as I can tell from the website and video, it doesn't. If this is indeed the case, is there any chance that this is something that would be considered for a future update? Maybe I'm a bit of a narcissist, but I tend to watch my landings using the replay function from time-to-time. Typically I fly GA stuff, and I've always noticed that the default FSX "fx_tchdwn_s.fx" effect is a bit odd. Specifically, the puff of smoke generated on tyre contact with paved runways seem to rise vertically whilst actually keeping pace with the aircraft (i.e. matching its forward speed) which is a bit disconcerting. Any technical insight from the FSFX experts would be very welcome. Do you guys also see the effect rendered in this way? I'm also not terribly keen on the touchdown smoke effects for larger aircraft either as they seem a bit overdone; a general overhaul of the three paved runway touchdown effects in FSX would be very welcome! Thanks, Nick

  4. We are glad to release our first update for PrecipitFX. Since the release of PrecipitFX over a month ago, we have received numerous feedbacks from our customers, which helped us dress a list of the most pressing issues which needed to be fixed. We are continuously working on our product to make it the most amazing effects package for the Flight Simulator community. What is included in the update? Enhanced rain and snow textures; Fix flashing rain and snow textures; Fix for a bug where the engine wash would follow the aircraft in the air. How do I get it? If you have PrecipitFX v1.0, running the installer will automatically update you to v1.1. If you don't have v1.0 installed, simply run the installer you downloaded from the FSFX Packages website.
  5. Montreal, Canada Product: PrecipitFX Release: August 12th, 0000Z FSFX Packages is a new way to simulate brand new effects around the different aircrafts and sceneries under interesting environmental conditions. Since Microsoft Flight Simulator X doesn't come bundled with such realistic effects, we had to think out of the box to create this new sens of immersion. In addition to our generic package, and since every aircraft and scenery is different, we decided to develop specific packages for add-ons. This allows us to push the boundaries of what's never been seen before in terms of visual effects! What’s that? Therefore, we present our first release: PrecipitFX! What’s that? It is a set of new realistic textures and effects that will change your flying experience! Indeed, most default effects in FSX are drab and doesn’t look like anything realistic. PrecipitFX will bring your simming experience to new heights with completely revamped contrails, rain and snow textures as well as overhauled effects wheels spray and engine wash effects. Where do we take our experience from? FSFX Packages was founded by real-world pilots who were also experience plane-spotters. Therefore, we have experienced first-hand all the effects that we create making them ultra-realistic. Since the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator X in 2006, weather effects have seen little to no change at all. We believe it's time to upgrade to a new level of realism! What’s included? New wheels spray effects under rain and snow conditions Smoke on hard braking New rain and snow textures New contrails New wingtip vortices New engine wash effects under rain and snow conditions What about performance toll? Our obsession with details pushed us to design a product easy on system performance. Our upcoming packages will keep the same line of thoughts. With regards to PrecipitFX, you will be able to run this package easily without a significant drop in FPS! Is it hassle-free installation? Yes sir! FSFX Packages comes with an easy-to-use installer. It automatically installs our effects on every aircraft in your sim, no coding required. Furthermore, would you wish to uninstall your whole Flight Simulator X, uninstalling PrecipitFX is one click away. Where can you get it? You can buy PrecipitFX form the FSFXPackages website Medias We have included in this message a link to our media kit. You can use any of the pictures in this package. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vxpj2luzi8s8v9c/AAAjFuNzHMdKpCFgQvRyN61ya
  6. There seems to be an issue with PrecipitFX 1.5.0.4 and Active Sky Next (Build 5848) under P3D v3.1. Following Image shows the correct precipitation of +SN (Heavy Snow). This is generated from the built-in Weather Theme "Heavy Snow" of Prepar3D: This image shows the same scene with ASN connected: As you can see, the snow flakes are too small and too barely! The Slider "Special effects detail" is set to "High" and I did reinstall PrecipitFX more then one times. What is going wrong? I like the Textures of PrecipitFX and want to yuse it together with ASN like sure many others of you ...
  7. I know Precipitfx is designed for the generic FSX aircraft but can someone please advise if it will work with the PMDG 737 for FSX? Thanks
  8. Will the rain and snow effects work over the already installed REX 3 Essentials plus Overdrive rain and snow textures? Thee REX variants are really poor in quality compared to these.
