  1. PMDG Pilots, With the upcomming, and HIGHLY anticipated DC6 comming out from PMDG. Golden Era Virtual would like to extend an offer to those profesional pilots who want to fly it together! What this means for PMDG Pilots: When the PMDG DC6 is released we will be adding it to our fleet instantly. We will also be including a section in our forum for story swapping on your adventures with this aircraft. We will also be looking for top of the line pilots to provide support to help newer pilots with learning this beauty of the skies. A little GEV background: Golden Era Virtual has only been around a short time. Golden Era Virtual was founded on December 23rd 2012, and went active Janurary 1st 2013. In this short amount of time, we have accumulated over 10 pilots from across the world. The virtual airline was created from scratch with a vision of more then just flying the big jumbo jets. GEV's fleet consists propliners only. We are a VATSIM only VA, that uses the VAFS5 client to run our ACARS. With this system our pilots fly for more then just hours, they fly for virtual currency as well. GEV is like no other virtual airline, in that we mean, real life comes first. We dont force activity on our pilots, or expect/demand rediculusly long flights to sustain a position within the VA. Our doors are open to all pilots interested in flying with us. Our number one belief is that within the flying world we are all family. Thats how we treat our pilots! Fleet: *3x Boeing 377 Stratocruiser *3x Beech Model 18 *3x Douglas DC-3 *3x Lockheed Constellation L-049 *3x SAAB 90 Scandia Hubs: KLGA - LaGuardia International: 1x Beech Model 18, 1x Douglas DC-3, 3x Boeing 377 Stratocruiser KMEM - Memphis International: 1x Beech Model 18, 1x Douglas DC-3, 3x Lockheed Constellation L-049 KTPA - Tampa International: 1x Beech Model 18, 1x Douglas DC-3, 3x SAAB 90 Scandia Where to find us: If you are interested, or looking for more information about us. 2. This is not a special Carenado problem, but the current Carenado planes show a nice spread of the anomaly. Talking about the wrong prop sound on sim planes with constant speed props (the prop alters the blade angle and keeps rpm steady, to a certain extent). Now you may already got used to the wrong behaviour, which is that the rpm change on the constant speed prop does not alter the prop sound, only the throttle (or power lever on the turbines) does. Now some planes (in the sim) do it right in my eyes. As a matter of fact, the very latest Carenado releases are among them and if you jump into the JetProp (turbine) or the A36 (piston) and change the rpm, you'll instantly hear how it is supposed to be. Small rpm changes can instantly be heard. Now jump into older releases, perhaps the C208 (turbine) and do the same there. Noted the difference? The rpm doesn't give you a difference in the sound, but only the engine power does. You see that the rpm stay at 1800 for example, but the sound still pitches up as the engine increases torque. If you decrease rpm in the C208 (which should lead to a lower pitched prop sound), the torque goes up (due to the lower rpm) and you even hear a higher pitched prop sound. Wrong! To be clear, this wrong thing happens on a lot of planes, especially the default ones of course. So how could we achieve the correct behaviour in the sim?I've tried the rough approach again and just used the JetProp (correct behaving) sounds on the C208, which comes with a 'wrong' set in regard to the mentioned behaviour. By doing this, I've tried to check if it's a throttle gauge thing or 'just' some sound.cfg problem. As it shows, the simple exchange enables the correct behaviour on the C208. So where's the trick?I've looked into the sound.cfg parameters and the description of them, but those values are way above my head. The FSX SDK explains how they are meant to be written, but I have no idea on where to tweak to get that prop to sound right. Can anyone help?

  5. Good evening! I'm new to this forum :) I just bought the 737-800\900 and -600\700 from PMDG. So far so good. Except, there is a really annoying propeller noise at the very beginning. You hear it inside the cockpit and outside but it should be completely (almost) silent. I uploaded a sample on youtube: I really hope so much that anyone can help me! This bothers me a lot! Greetings, Carsteb!

  7. After a week in Alaska, I've gotten into bush plane flying, and so I'm looking for a good bush plane for FSX. I was in a 206 Stationair a few days ago, and there were plenty of Skywagons at the same airstrip, but Carenado's models of those aren't up to par with their later stuff. The 182 Bush package looked great until I saw that the instrument panel is pretty much flat, and I'm looking for a highly-detailed panel. Does anybody know of any good bush planes, freeware or payware, for FSX? Thanks, boeing247 By the way, I've seen talk of a good freeware Maule on FlightSim.com. Does anybody know anything about that? Edit: and I'm looking for something a bit smaller than the Grand Caravan, which I might go with if I can't find anything else.
  8. Hello everyone, I'm looking for some pre existing prop textures ( Prop_C172.dds) for the Default 172. I have painted the prop for the aircraft while the engine is not running. What I'm looking for is a prop with a red and white tip while the prop is running. I have tried to paint the Prop_C172.dds but it comes out black and the lines don't look right. I don't exactly how to work with the Alpha Channel for the texture. If you know of a pre ex existing texture please let me know. (Please Post a link) If you would be willing to paint one for me that would be great as well. Maybe we could work out some kind of a trade. Thanks Guys! :help: :Praying: This is the custom paint I have done that I'm looking for the texture for!
