  1. Hello, If there were a real world UTC time info for the "next waypoint" in the progress tab of the flight plan, that would make things much easier for oceanic crossings in Vatsim :) There is already current UTC info. All I'm kindly asking is to add the same info for the next waypoint! Thanks for this beloved; free and great product @albar965 !
  2. Just a heads up that I have uploaded my Checklist for the Flysimware C414AW to flightsim.to here. I am posting this here as this is the most active forum so people will see it. It is also in the Flysimware sub forum. Fly safe.
  3. Hi Guys, Firstly apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum, it's quite a vast place ol' Avsim! Just a quick one really, does anyone know of an online resource which shows Easyjet flight numbers and their actual voice callsigns? e.g. EZY7345 (U27345) VOICE: EZY337W I've done a few searches on Google to come up with nothing, and I've even joined jetva.co.uk hoping they had the information; I'm yet to find it on there. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance! - Tyler
  4. Hi everyone, I need to interview and profile someone for my college writing class and I would like to interview an airline pilot. Could anyone give me some insight or point me in the right direction on how I could get into contact with an airline pilot? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Hi all. Just curious about how the nav data and other information is updated each month on a FMC in real life/real world. Is it done over-the-air (wirelessly) or does a technician connects a hardrive with the new info with a data cable? Who provides the airline with said info each month? Thanks, and regards. Armando Arjona
  6. The gist of an approach according to the FCOM is something like: Before IAF, set Flaps 5 At "glideslope alive", gear down and Flaps 15 Just prior to glideslope capture, set Flaps 30/40 What I find is that by the time I've completed these steps, the runway is generally still a ways out and since I'm slow and fully configured at glideslope capture, it takes some time to reach the runway. It feels like I'm configured too early compared to real-world ops. My question is -- how closely is the above procedure followed in real life? In the spirit of minimizing delays and getting down sooner, I suspect that some of the flap extension (and speed reduction) is done later. I'm sure I've seen a cockpit video when the pilot called for Flaps 5 after glideslope capture. Any real world pilots or SMEs able to chime in? Thanks Sam Kharey
  7. Set-up: Flying the JRollon CRJ-200 in X-Plane 10.45 from KORD to KBUF with SkyMaxx. Weather was overcast with cloud ceiling at 13000ft but no heavy winds or turbulence. Issue: Cruising at 31,000ft I began my decent into KBUF about 90 miles out. At about 28,000ft I inadvertently pressed the wrong button on my joystick - TWICE. This caused the flaps to engage at about 420kt. I immediately realized my mistake and attempted to retract the flaps but it was too late and the plane began an uncontrolled drive that I was completely unable to recover from crashing to the ground within 45 seconds! Question: If this happened in real life would the aircraft really respond in that way? Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if the flaps completely broke off at that speed but would that cause an unrecoverable dive/free fall? Other than my curiousness about all things aviation, I am also wondering if X-Plane exaggerated the situation? I once ran into extremely heavy turbulence flying over Florida in XP. I was indeed able to recover but I couldn't help but wonder was XP exaggerating the turbulent affect on the aircraft? Only questioned because I had never run into that type turbulence in years with FSX and P3D. Likewise, I'd never lost control of a plan like that in FSX or P3D either. Just wondering if I need to somehow adjust my realism settings differently or, are these events, and outcomes, completed plausible? Any insight would be great. BTW: *Yes, I made an absolute "Bone Head" mistake! As an armchair sim pilot, nobody was hurt other than my fragile ego - so you can answer sans the Bone Head Back Slaps!
