  2. Long story short. I've been wondering where do people find high quality real sounds that they use in their FSX videos. Do they just export them from real videos or is there a place somewhere on the 'net where i can find them? Thanks.
  3. So I don't like how Airliners.net wants to have $25 so that you can post topics on their civil aviation forums except the Photographer forums. So does anybody know any good free real world aviation forum website. Does Avsim have a spot?
  4. Hello everyone, Here's a new video of my year of aviation in 5min ! I hope you'll enjoy the ride !!
  5. Hi guys, I am posting this topic to ask you if you could provide us (a small team of talented flightsimmers who started to create a Dubai World scenery. For sure, it will not be a high-end quality scenery but we want to improve the realism in the flightsimulator and to build up some hangars, warehouses or terminals in the flightsim. As there are not really much photos available from DWC for now, we need your help! If you were there or you have the possibility to get there to make some photos of the hangars from Emirates SkyCargo, the Terminal or the taxiways/stands, it would really nice to get them. Please let me know in order to give you a possibility to share with us your photos. Thanks a lot in advance, Timm
  6. Hi everyone, I hope all is well. I have a somewhat ridiculous or silly question but it has been eating away at my head for a few days (when the PMDG 737 videos came out) I have seen that some stremers have something very particular about airplanes. I don't know if it's a mod, add or it's just there inside MSFS and I haven't activated it yet. and it is when the plane slows down, the landing gears go up and down like very smooth jumps, I have also seen when they go through unevenness the plane moves and does not remain rigid but rather reacts to that event that happens in real life. I have seen this in a streamer called Chewwy94 on twitch especially with the PMDG 737 I hope someone can help me with this please Note: how do I update the live weather downloads every certain time and not the time that the MSFS uses itself
  7. Our intention is to make P3D as real as possible. The Prepar3d Tweak Assisant is the perfect tool to get what we want. There were many days in testing, configuring, optimizing with hundres of restarts our P3Ds. Last but not least was every work worth it. For us, we created the most realistic preset for our P3D's - at day, at night, at the sunrising and at the sunset. And now we want to share it with you all - grab it - test it - love it! >>> http://tinyurl.com/thopat <<< Rate & Share! We would really appreciate it, if you take some time to write down your opinion in our discussion section and share our preset. Kind regards Thorsten Sass & Patrick Leonhardt
  8. Airports have been photo aligned for Texas, Florida, Hawaii and Louisiana and posted in the Avsim library. If you are a photo real user and have installed these airports, please report any issues or missed airports to the email address in the readme file. Designers, please note the simplicity of the concept and help with other areas. A sample of these aligned airports are posted on Youtube at ( ). Thanks for your interest and feedback.
  9. FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, November 7th, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SparkJet laid out yesterday in an email to its crewmembers information on the new schedule, fleet and destination changes. Zeke Elias, SparkJet CEO said the following "It’s been a while, we know. We’ve been working very hard at adding more automation into the site, creating new schedules and introducing the B777-200LR into our fleet. None of the former an easy or non-time consuming process but now we are finally ready to announce that the Winter Schedule is complete and with it some changes to the fleet destinations. This schedule doesn’t only focus on our customers and the destinations they want to see served but it focuses on our Aeolus alliance partner airline destinations in order to provide a global network for the customers. This schedule also enables connections through many cities that used to only have round-robin service from one of our hubs. Unfortunately some cuts had to be made and they include our South America destination that wasn’t economically sustainable anymore. The B736’s have passed on to Kanata and they will further expand intra-Canada service to larger destinations and connecting our network to customers who lacked access to affordable air travel. Fleet and Destination Changes FLL – E170 now operating former B737-700 routes and B737-700 operating E170 routes. B763ER no longer based in FLL, moved to JFK. Removed B757-200’s from FLL, moved to JFK. ABQ - B763ER now dedicated to Canada and Hawaii routes. Introduced a B738 with service to JAC, DSM and BIL. SFO – B752 operates to Hawaii and Intra-Hawaiian service. Introduced a B738 with service to JAC, BIL and ORD. JFK – Most affected hub B763ER flights to EZE, LHR, CDG and MAD. B772LR flights to ORD, ATH, AMS and FRA. B738 flights to DFW, SXM, MCO, SJU and LAX. B752 flights to KEF, SNN, SLC, FNC, LIS and TPA. Intra-Hub - One 772LR will be circulating the system on intra-hub flights (Excluding KFLL) We will also be looking at the schedule once a quarter and edit destinations and service frequencies as we see fit, sometimes downgrading or upgrading equipment. Finally, I’d like to say that the MD80 expansion in TNCM is still in the plans, we are just slowly integrating everything so we can maintain our financial stronghold regardless of what is thrown at us. With the former being said, we are still looking for HELP in our training department. Think you can help us? Send us an email to zelias@spark-jet.com Happy November!" SparkJet is still looking for qualified First Officers to join the company, so if you’re interested in being based out of KFLL, KABQ, KJFK, KSFO and CYYC make sure you apply here http://spark-jet.com/index.php/content/careers!
  10. Does anybody know what the units are on these settings? MaxGustRampSpeed=200 MaxGustTime=500 MaxVarRampSpeed=75 MaxVarTime=50 MinGustRampSpeed=1 MinGustTime=10 MinVarRampSpeed=10 MinVarTime=5 I'm trying to find a better "feeling" wind. The default values are too weak/benign compared to the real world, and I'm trying to adjust them. It would help if I knew what the numbers represented. For example, is the "speed" a unit like KTS or degrees, or a percentage? Is time in seconds on milliseconds?
  11. Hello there my fellow aviators. I think that FSX navaids have too much range, according to what I've read in wikipedia... it states that the range is limited to the horizon but also gives some ranges passing 100nm as well... dont understand. I also now about skywave propagation of NDBs, so I'm not SO noob :D Here are the FSX values (used ADEx to check,, from varius airports around the world): DME High Altitude: 195.05NM DME low altitude: 60.02NM VOR/DME Low Altitude: 60.02NM VOR/DME High Altitude:195.05NM VOR High Altitude: 195.05 NM VOR Low Altitude: 60.02NM NDB HH: 112.53NM and one managed to throw 75.02NM NDB H: 75.05NM NDB MH: 37.51NM NDB Compass Locator: 22.51NM I mostly fly GA aviation in alaska and below 7500ft (Unpressurized aircrafts btw). I simulate air taxi and bush flying, my goal is to make it as realistic as possible, I don't even use GPS! (yes, I'm a vintage virtual flyer :D:D:D) Any imput from a Real world Pilot is appreciated, as i'm just a virtual one. Cheers and Happy Flying!! ltnicolas (Nicolas)
  12. First of all, I'm definitely not one of these guys who flies published approaches with VOXatc in my 10 monitor garage setup. So yes, I understand that fsx can be much much more real in terms of ATC than it is. I've read a fair amount of real and fsx atc phrasology and have a general idea as to what the real world is sort of like. That said, my question is this: When you create an IFR flight in fsx and you use the default atc, it more or less tells you what to do. "Climb to.....descend to.....expect vectors for....yadda yadda. It's very procedural and if you know how to fly an ILS approach you're pretty much set. Is that what it would be like for a small airplane/private pilot type person in real life? When do yo use all those STAR approaches and published approaches etc? I can't seem to get a straight-for-idiots explanation for any of that stuff. Anyway, The question is: If I use the ATC for a little vfr flight in a small aiplane; is that a somewhat real process? And...when do real world small aircraft pilots use approach charts of any kind? Why would you need them when the ATC simply tells you what to do every step of the way. This is totally Noobish I realize. Just curious.
  13. Hi everyone, I'd like to create this thread in order to regroup all the ideas this community has to improve FSW so DTG devlopment team can see all our expectations on one page. Having a team listening to the Flight Sim Community for creating the perfect sim is rare so I hope this thread will be useful for all of us. In order to keep this readable, your posts can contain 2 categories: - small improvments that could be implemented rapidly - big and long-term improvments (real world weather etc...) Please dont comment or discuss too much, keep it simple and readable, give your ideas that's all. Let DTG Team judge what is worth it and what can be done or not. I'll start: Short ones : _rain sound could be louder to feel and fear the elements :) (or be adjustable, the environment slider is currently not that efficient) _make a " visual smoke effect" if you look at the wings from the cockpit when flying through clouds to simulate the plane is REALLY in it. _make ATC speak faster like in real life _ Head anticipation in turns when taxi and flying (like in XP Realistic addon) Big ones : _ a "FSPassengers like" feature whith passengers screaming in turbulence (make us avoid the clouds) _Windows Voice Recognition for ATC would be awesome like in Tower3DPro _ ATC speaking with accents depending on which continent or country we fly
