1. Hello all, I need someone to tell me how to find and download airport scenery. I would love to get my hands on airports like DFW, Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, and a few others. How do I fix it so that the airlines that fly into those airports are pretty accurate (i.e., the dominant carrier at DFW is American Airlines). Also, I would like to spruce up taxiway signs, taxiways, and runways in a way that looks more accurate. For example, I would love to see tire marks on runways. I'd also like to see more accurate taxiway signs and airport land markings. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
2. I use several very nice freeware sceneries by George McKeough, a. o. LGKF Kefallinia Airport in Greece (as here in the avsim library). Couldn`t mail to the author. Hi George, you are here? The rotating beacon on the tower shows big, very ugly, black and intransparent beams instead of white/green (the 2nd smaller GA beacon nearby is o.k.). I re-downloaded and reinstalled the scenery x times and as well the same files from simviation. . I use FSX Steam on C:/, on a Samsung 960 EVO PCi express, WIN 10 64 bit, i5 7600 and a Nividia GTX 1050 Ti, DX 10 is unticked, anisotropic filtering. Have best frames all the way in very high settings! No other graphic anomalies with whatever objects or sceneries.. Had a similar anomalie with the very fine Pamplona Noain by www.simzalek.wixsit.com. Black beams outgoing from runway lights and other very strong lights. Reinstallation helped instantly. Has someone this scenery too? Can I deleteor render the object, how? I appreciate any help. Thanks
3. Hey guys, so first of all my System: (i7 10700k, RTX 2070 Super,Win 10 64, 32 GB RAM , Z490 Gaming Plus MoBo, Corsair 650 w 80 Gold PSU) 150k Internet speed I have the problem, if I fly on (ultra settings) over the Mount Everest and the nearby mountains, the mountains change. Its like the mountais are moving. So if I fly over a mountain ridge for example, the Slope is just changing, like moving. And then it stops. Or distant mountains pop out of nowhere. <--- you can watch it in this youtube video from like minute 2:40 - 2:45 on the left side, the slope is moving. Only that I get these moving parts and popping out mountains a lot more than this guy. Could this be because of a bad bandwith or maybe a faulty GPU? Because I never earthed myself when changing my GPU or Motherbord. Maybe that caused the Problem?
4. Hello everyone, I have have a problem with the new addon scenery Berlin Tegel from Gaya. I purchased it today on the marketplace in fs2020 and tried it after downloading it. I recognized that a few Buildings are sunken in the ground and that the bridge on taxiway PW/PE isn't usable because of a buggy scenery so i reinstalled it several times but i can't fix it does someone has the same problem or a solution for this problem? My Theory is that this whole scenery is to high in the world some buildings standing on the original ground an som are standing on the new raised ground cousing these bugs. Greeting from Berlin B.B
5. Hey. Does anyone have suggestions on how to reduce or remove the hard edge squares I am getting? An example of this can be seen in the snow colored square in this image: I would expect that the edges would be more blended with the surrounding tiles and so am suspecting something in my configuration file. Thanks -david-
6. Because it has been "asked" here and there: Let me try to quantify the differences (and where I write HD Mesh, there UHD Mesh would apply equally - generally speaking). And with the XP11 default Global Scenery I mean the one replaced with public beta one (later this might change). HD Mesh Scenery v3: older data (approximately 2 years old) - XP11 default: newer OSM data (August 2016) XP11 default has updated landclass data for many regions (compared to HD Mesh Scenery v3) HD Mesh Scenery v3: older autogen placement algorithms and no special European roads during scenery generation (XP11 default has a slight edge here - at least urbanized areas might look better) HD Mesh Scenery v3 has much higher resolution Mesh (this has NOT been changed in XP11 default do to scenery size constraints!) HD Mesh Scenery v3 has much more accurate landclass representation (even if its based on older data as described above) because of its higher res mesh (landclass is bound to mesh triangles) HD Mesh Scenery v3 has older (because of older OSM data) but more accurate coastlines (rivers, lakes, ocean) as XP11 default needed to simplify vectors ... again because of scenery size constraints. So, in the long run (especially to iron out the first 3 "disadvantages") I will possibly release a HD Mesh Scenery v4 (and likely some similar update to UHD Mesh). But this will not happen anytime soon ... especially as I also wait for some further planned improvements in the scenery generator from Laminar (like including building height data, which has NOT been included in this first scenery released by Laminar with the public beta ... yes, I can confirm this information as I discussed it with Ben Supnik). I would also like to - again - point to my post about general Mesh Scenery informations (what exactly is in those DSF files) to clarify it further: http://www.avsim.com/topic/498605-mesh-in-x-plane-has-extra-features/?p=3516077Info and statement is also posted on my website (for others to reference): http://www.alpilotx.net/2016/11/07/statement-about-the-compatibility-with-x-plane-11/
7. After migrating to P3Dv4.1, I started do add some sceneries that does not have a installer using the "Add-ons" method, like modern companies (A2A, FSDT, Flightbeam) are doing. In that way, I don't need to copy effects files to the sim folder, keeping the installation folders cleaner. But after adding about 15 sceneries this way, I noticed some collateral effect. Some GSX vehicles loose their textures and even some aircraft like A2A and PMDG stoped to load their textures (and became black). Removing all the sceneries xml from the add-ons directory, makes everything comes back to normal. Now, I'd like to know how you guys are doing. What's the best way to add manually installed sceneries? 1. Use the modern way, through Add-ons folder and xml 2. Use the old way, through Scenery Library

10. Hi All: Thought some of you might be interested in a discovery I made today on loading times for FSX from a cold boot to the 'Free Flight' screen. I recently upgraded to an SSD for my OS (Windows 7) and FSX. I, however, have several hundred GB of scenery data that won't begin to fit on the SSD so I have it still installed on a hard drive. But with the rest of FSX and W7 on the SSD I expected to see a significant improvement in FSX startup times. I did not. Maybe 30 secs at the most (3 mins before, about 2.5 mins after). Why? The only data not on the SSD is the scenery data. That must be what is still slowing my startup times. I tried some things. As a first test, I substituted the default scenery.cfg file from back when FSX was installed for my current one, expecting a big difference in startup times: No! Barely any difference! FSX was still reading lots of scenery before the 'Free Fligh't Screen would appear. Next I tried an empty 'Addon Scenery' folder (moved my current one outside of FSX and replaced it with an empty one, just like FSX newly installed). Some improvement but still slow (2:22). I have lots of scenery installed in the FSX folders, not just in the 'Addon Scenery' folder. So next I moved all those folders (only my payware/freeware folders, not any of the default folders) outside of the FSX folder structure and retested from a cold start: Big improvement! Startup time a mere 0:20!! So it appears FSX scans all the folders within the FSX file structure for scenery on startup, even when there is no corresponding entry in the scenery.cfg file. So next I put back my scenery.cfg file, but modified it with the new locations of all my scenery folders outside of the FSX main folder. This was very easy to do, just needed to add a "..\" in front of each local= entry for folders that were moved. Shut down the computer, waited a minute or so then restarted. My new boot time, with my 'normal' scenery active: 0:35!! A full 2 minutes quicker than before. I will add that the load times from pressing 'Fly Now' until the cockpit appears, ready for flight, do not change with this technique. So if you normally fly with most of your scenery active this method will not help you. But for me, with hundreds of GB of scenery data, and only a small portion of it active at any one time, it made a very welcome difference. Almost as good as a brand new installation! The only scenery folder I cannot move in this fashion is Orbx. That has to stay where it is. FTX have not provided a way to move it elsewhere. I have 68GB of data in that folder (linked to a hard drive folder). It is costing me 10 seconds in startup time! I could move that 68GB to my SSD but that would nearly fill it. If anyone knows a way to move it so FSX doesn't scan it on startup I would love to know! David CYXE
11. Hi all, I'm pretty new here and couldn't find the right place to post my post, so here is some screenshots from the scenery I'm working on Tashkent for P3D and FSX before I start you can visit my project page and get download link http://ftxdes.blogspot.com winter texture for the region and also night texture
12. Hi guys i'm having problems with my TNCA scenery in P3Dv3 the terminal building isn't showing up can anyone help?
13. Hi everyone. I've seen all the great scenery that MisterX6 and ISDG have produced, like KLAX and YSSY respectively, and I wanted to make my own contribution to the X-Plane community, by modelling WSSS (Singapore Changi) and hopefully other airbases around Singapore as well. Besides just the airports themselves, I'd like to populate the entire island and especially the Marina Bay area with nice, hand-made skyscrapers and multi-storey housing. I realise that this is a pretty big project, but I'd like to start small, with just the airport and underlying terrain textures around Singapore. Can I have a few guiding steps to get this kick-started? How do I change the farmland that currently covers most of Singapore into grass (this tiny island has no space for farming)? Also, WED is a little daunting. I suppose for maximum realism I will have to custom-model the buildings of Changi.

15. Hi! I haven't used my flight sim in over a year but recently I've gotten back into it. I forgot how much fun I had operating flights through fsx. I'm from the Boston area and KBOS is my home airport. For whatever reason the airport in the sim is completely out of wack. I don't have much knowledge in the technicalities of all of this but I believe it's a texture issue but I cannot pinpoint the problem. The runways and airport buildings are present, along with taxiway signs however, grass and taxiways are completely black. I've removed any add-on's I had for KBOS and still no luck. This is the only airport I have this issue with. I was hoping that there's someone smarter than me out there who can suggest a solution that doesn't involve doing a full reinstall because I have so many add-on aircraft & airports it would take ages to get everything back. This is my first post here and I'm not sure how to attach screenshots but if someone knows I'd be glad to provide them. Hopefully someone can help me out here, thanks!
16. I am in the process of updating the Bahamas scenery. I just posted a scenery pack: bahamas_scenery_pack_1.zip for download. https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=bahamas&CatID=p3dscen&Go=Search This is replacement scenery is for northern Bahamas: Grand Bahama, Abaco, Bimini, and the Berry Islands, plus the Turks and Caicos. This pack includes updated vector, land class, water class, static objects, and all airports for these region. All airports are now accurately located and updated. This is a huge improvement over the default scenery. I plan to release three more scenery packs that will cover all of the Bahamas as time allows. Enjoy! 17. Hi All, I am experiencing a fairly large number of square daylight textures when flying at night on P3DV4.3. I have come across a few topics where others are having the same or similar issues, but their issues seem to be arising from Orbx scenery conflicts. However I haven't got any Orbx products installed. I have only ever touched Orbx to install the free Iceland demo, but have since un-installed this product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=2018-12-18_21-7-55-913.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/ay758h2rrs886cn/2018-12-18_21-3-50-739.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=2018-12-18_21-3-54-88.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=2018-12-18_21-7-59-447.jpg Regards, Archie.

19. Good evening all, I usually fly jetliners in Europe mainly, sometimes in North America and Asia..I now want to do some General Aviation flying around Alaska.. Because i now am going to fly a lot lower than with the jets, i would like to know which freeware and payware add ons there are to enhance the flying in Alaska..I don`t exactely know the difference between terrain and mesh, so if anyone would like to fill me in a bit i would appreciate it.. Thanks..
20. As we all know, London is a performance intensive location in FSX, even with a high-end system. I'm wondering if anyone with a high-end system has managed to run it smoothly and stable at max settings with addons and AI. I'm running a i7-4770K @ 4.5GHz, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 780 FSX is in DX10 preview mode with Steve's DX10 fix, Max display settings @ 1920x1200, (except: water settings set to Low 2.x, Ground Scenery shadows off), HIGHMEMFIX=1 tweak applied ORBX FTX England UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme set to High detail VFR London Scenery (No photoscenery, just buildings) <this doesn't eat up that many frames, my system handles it well Ultimate Traffic 2 set to 70% I mostly fly the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended A320 I get 20-50 frames without running UT2 AI traffic and it goes down to 8-25 frames with AI traffic in the region. Without getting too obsessed with the frame counter, FSX runs smoothly (15-30 frames) whilst descending into London, passing over the suburbs and into the city, but on final approach, it would drop to 8-15 frames. Whilst I'm okay with landing at 10 frames in this FSX setup, I was wondering if I could get more out of my system. Okay, I can reduce the level of AI which would certainly improve performance, but I'm not that keen on making Heathrow look empty.
21. I have converted flytampa's kai tak to xplane 10, but there are 2 issues I'm facing. Everything looks pretty good except I get this layer of haze over the city that I can't seem to get rid of, and the runways at Kai Tak airport don't quite line up correctly, so you see 2 runways. If someone has converted this awesome addon and got it to look right in X-Plane 10, I'd appreciate if anyone can help me fix these issues so that I can use this scenery. Here are some screenshots to show the problems: Runway isn't lining up properly, and if you look you can see a layer of haze/smog above the city that came from the conversion that I don't want.
22. Hi all, a few days ago I setup an LFPG-KSFO long haul filght. PMDG 777-200, ASN for weather, REX Overdrive for textures. Flight plan has been loaded to the plane and to ASN, weather theme set in FSX as Active Sky Next generated dynamic theme. At a certain point during the flight, I realized I'd be flying over water before reaching the Canada coast but I noticed the depicted scenery at that same time was winter land instead, eg country fields with snow and some straight roads. I switched the view to map view, zoomed out just to discover that the red cross representing the plane is located at the center of an almost rectangular shape characterized by darker colors. The rectangular shape moves as well so that the plane is always at the center. No problem when the plane is flying over land, as land scenery is depicted, but when the plane goes flying over water still land scenery is depicted and that is NOT right (except in case the Hudson Bay water is already totally frozen in this season of the year...) !! Any idea on what the rectangular shape could represent ? May it be the earth surface portion around the plane influenced by ASN ? I cannot post a picture now, will do as soon as possible Kind regards, Aldo
23. Greetings! Is there a tool anyone is aware of that allows us to enable/disable Scenery objects *outside* of FSX? First,a bit of background. When the weather is clear, one of my favorite flights is from KORS (Orcas Island) to KHQM (Bowerman) for the proverbial $100 hamburger. Load the Legacy with 30 gallons of gas, strap in the Wif-Unit, set the altitude for 2500', and up and away we go. I have all the Orbx NA regions, and we all know how nice PNW is for flying around the San Juan Islands. I used to be able to make this flight without incident. However, after purchasing and installing some Orbx airports I get the soft chiming from FSUIPC that signals an impending OOM during flight, and sure enough I lock-up around Jefferson County International, which is off to the right of my flight path, but close enough to have some of its data loaded. If I restart FSX and disable Anacortes, Seiku, Jefferson, and Cushman Meadows, I do not encounter the OOM so it is pretty clear that the added detail of the Orbx airports is pushing my VAS over the edge. I don't mind, really - it is just the price we pay. However, the "start FSX, enable/disable scenery, stop FSX, restart FSX" sequence is a royal pain, hence my question about manipulating the scenery database outside of FSX. I guess I have gotten spoiled by Maarten Boelens SimLauncher product, which allows me to setup of a LOT of things prior to launching FSX, and was hoping there was similar capabilities for the Scenery database. I have Add-it Pro! but I cannot seem to get the scenery database to list anything out of the default (i.e., does not see Orbx directory). Thanks!
