  1. Still testing my fresh install of MSFS with everything still at default, I flew a Land's End to John O'Groats flight (using the nearest runways to those locations) whilst visiting the UK's highest peaks en route. Anyhoo... After 4 hours 40 min, I'd had a single micro-pause early in the flight and nothing else amiss when suddenly the PC shut down. I immediately reached for the top of the case to see if there was an excess of heat but it was significantly below the sort of temperature I'd expect to cause a problem. I restarted and looked at the Event Viewer: The only thing of note I could see was "The GameInput Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 5 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 1000 milliseconds: Restart the service." This was one of the 5 entries for this error recorded at the restart, so I assume this occurred at the shutdown. A quick search showed this has been reported (whether accurately or not) as the cause of shutdowns for other Windows users. Any thoughts? I ran SFC which said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them." The resultant CBS log file is massive but at the end it said "2023-12-09 19:19:29, Info DEPLOY [Pnp] Corrupt file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\bthmodem.sys 2023-12-09 19:19:29, Info DEPLOY [Pnp] Repaired file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\bthmodem.sys" (I can share the log but it has 28903 lines!) According to I'm none the wiser. I do however use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard but I'm not sure if BthModem either affects their use or would cause a crash.
  2. Hey Team, First, I want to say that this is my first Leonardo product, and it's truly magnificent. Well made, indeed! I do have a question for you all; why will my engines/electrical system cut out suddenly? The engine (which, I believe triggers the electrical cut out) will occur after engine start up, and/or immediately after take off. My initial flight was a success (with no eng/elec issues), but for every flight since, i've had my Eng shut down randomly either after push and start, or take off. Knowing that i've completed one flight successfully makes me think it's user error. What system/procedure could i be ignoring that allows this shutdown to happen? I'm following the checklists to a T (I hope), and the only thing I can point to is to FS2CREW and some of the commands I give them. I think it has to do with the APU gen or something. Any insight would be appreciated!
  3. Need your experience here. I had built a new system a couple of months back. Here are the specs: 1. Intel 4670k overclocked to 4.3 ghz 2. 8gb 2133mghz ram 3. Corsair H110i water cooler 4. Nvidia GTX 770 ACX supercooled 4gb 5. Corsair 650w power supply the problem here is that with P3Dv2.1 and Xplane my system shutsdown after 10-15 mins. Initially I thought that its because of the overclock. I got it down to 3.5Ghz and it still shutsdown after 15 mins. This does not happen with FSX. Stress test with other tools goes fine with CPU testing. But when I stress test the GPU the system dies down after 10-15 mins. The GPU temp has been undercontrol at 77.Since P3Dv2 and Xplane has offloaded things on GPU which leads me to believe that when GPU is under load the machine shutsdown. I had a look at the requirements for the GPU and found that it needs 45A on 12V rail on minimum while my power supply only supplies 30A. To me it looks like this might be the issue. But am not too sure of it since i dont wanna get a new power supply and the issue still exists. Just asking it out over here to see if you guys think that this could be a probable issue. In that case I can get a new power supply to test it out. 4. Kotaku, a Game focused web site, is tonight reporting that the Microsoft Aces Studios title "Flight" has had development stopped. In the article written by Jason Schreier, the site reports that "Microsoft has informed Kotaku that they have not shut down the studio but it has ended development on flight simulator Microsoft Flight and Project Columbia, a Kinect interactive TV project ." In an unattributed quote, Kotaku reports; "Microsoft Studios is always evaluating its portfolio of products to determine what is best for gamers, families and the company, and this decision was the result of the natural ebb and flow of our portfolio management. Many factors were considered in the difficult decision to stop development on "Microsoft Flight" and "Project Columbia," but we feel it will help us better align with our long-term goals and development plans. For "Microsoft Flight," we will continue to support the community that has embraced the title and the game will still be available to download for free at http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/." You can read the entire artilce here: http://kotaku.com/5929141/microsoft-shuts-down-vancouver+based-studio Note that AVSIM has requested confirmation of this news directly from Microsoft. We will update this article to reflect any communication we receive. You can join the forum conversation here.
  5. Hi, I've been using the Eaglesoft Citation X version 2 for a long time. It was working wonderfully. Suddenly the whole plane shuts down in mid-flight after some amount of minutes! Power goes out, engines go, I can't turn electric back on. It happened once before and I forget what I did to fix it :( Anyone with any ideas ? Thanks jj
  6. Dear AVSIM Flight Community, It has been a while since I last posted here on AVSIM, but I thought that it would be important to inform the Flight community here about my upcoming flight events. I am a member of the msFlights.net community, and I have a group flight event every Friday from 7:00 PM EST (UTC -5:00) to 9:00 PM EST (UTC -5:00). Starting tonight my flights are going to be strictly in Microsoft Flight until the multiplayer capabilities of the game are shutdown. The flight plans are going to take us to all of those iconic Flight locations. We are going to relive Microsoft Flight one last time, and I want Microsoft to be able to notice the sudden spike in server traffic. I want to fill sessions(emphasis on plural) with these flights. We are still here, and we still love flying in Microsoft Flight. I hope to see EVERYONE participating in these events. This isn't about trying to save the game, this is about unifying the Flight community and celebrating all of the amazing times that we have had flying with each other in Microsoft Flight. So let's keep Flight alive! Sincerely, DeathseekerDXC FOR MORE INFORMATION: CLICK HERE Information regarding these flights will be posted on msflights.net in the events section. Look for upcoming events with the name "Wonders of the World" or "FIGHT for FLIGHT!" If there is not going to be a flight you will see "FLIGHT POSTPONED" in the normal time slot. Volunteering to host and orchestrate overflow sessions will be greatly appreciated!
  7. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could have the parking brakes "disconnected" from my normal toe brakes (I am using ch pro pedals) as they are pretty sensitive and make the parking brakes pop off all the time? Thats pretty annoying. Otherwise my brakes work ok, no problems with rto or autobrakes etc.. Kaj Ekström
  8. Hello All ----- Still struggling with my sound issue on the TBM 850. The problem is that after auto-shutdown, the full power turbo sound remains steady, without any gradual decrease, until the prop comes to a complete halt. Then the sound cuts off abruptly. Anyone else have this problem?? I have both SP1 and SP2 installed over an original early download of the 850. If no one else is having this issue, maybe I should uninstall the 850 with the SPs and download the most recent version, which should have all updates included. (?) What say 850 flyers??? Thanks ---- Bob <_<
