  1. First, my system: i7 3770K @ 3.50Ghz (stock) 16GB RAM 256 SSD Corsair 1TB Seagate 7200 EVGA 670 FTW 2GB (All 4 monitors connected to it) Monitors: 3 x Acer G235H (23.5") 1 x Acer X162W (16") Equipment: Saitek Everything (Yoke, Pedals, TPM, Radios, Panel, Throttle, Switches, BIP) using SPAD Add-Ons: REX 4 Issue: I recently switched from FSX to P3D. So far I love it. Graphics are way better, better optimization of resources in new systems, my FPS don't drop from 30-35 and compared to FSX it shows how well optimized the game is in comparisson and I know they will introduce to even more optimizations (better SLI, Xfire, multi-cores, etc) Now, I've been struggling with my multi-monitor configuration. I used to run Surround for the three large screens (5760x1080) and then extend the little screen and FSX would allow me to create a new view and drag it to the small screen. In that way, I would use the three screens for scenery only and the little screen for instruments. It worked beautifully. Now with Prepa3d I can't get it to work that way. P3D won't let me drag a new window to the smaller screen in either full screen mode nor windowed. I tried with and without surround also. I'm building a Panel for a C172 and I really want to use my 4th 16" screen instead of the saitek gages or an iPad tablet to display gages as I already have the perfect small screen to be in the panel. Anyone knows what's the best way to do this 3 + 1 setup? I wouldn't mind buying a second 670 if I need to but I need/want to make this work. Right now all my screen are happily connected to my 670 and I have no problems running it that way. The card seems to support the monitors quite well The 670 runs pretty much flawlessly with P3D
  2. I just recently purchased a GTX 770 which has 3 Samsung B2330 monitors connected to it. When I enable surround (with or with out bezel correction) I lose some real estate on screen 1. With 3 1920x1080 monitors I would have expected something close to 5760x1080, what I am getting is 5040x1050. Also when I exit surround mode, the resolution on monitor 1 comes back at 1680x1050. Any ideas on how to correct? Monitor 1 & 2 are DVI monitor 3 is HDMI. Thanks Kevin
  3. G'day, Hello! I'm embarking on a fun little adventure with a simulator for a local aero club. I need a little help, advice, admonishing for my goal of running the P3D terrain view across 5 large Plasma displays. I need to be able to do it with one mean mother of a PC and 2 graphics cards (preferably nVidia). The stick paty here is that it needs to be 5 REAL, and separate views that combined will give me 220° FOV forwards and to the sides. I need to know that it can be done, and maybe a nudge in the right direction to get me started. Cheers and thanks for the help! :) Dave
  4. I should have posted earlier... The 5.1 sound installer wasnt working in the earlier releases of the 777 for V4. Raised a ticket. Got a response saying it would be fixed when a new installer is released. New installer released. Fixed. oh and no Microsoft, for the 47th time I do not want the Bing bar, I would not like it on a boat, I would not like it with a goat... Thanks PMDG
  5. Hello, I have recently upgraded my system because of low performance issues. My new specs are: i7-3770k @ 4.0ghz, GTX 970 4gb and 8gb Ram, Windows 7 Ultimate My config I've been playing with to work out whats gone wrong and I'm still very unsure as my fps can be as low as 8-9 fps in the sky. It also has lag spikes. Before you ask I use 3 monitors 1920x1200 on surround of a resolution of 5760 x 1200 on the gtx 970 (Running the flight). And a smaller monitor on a gtx 610 @ 1280x1024 (This for maps)... I have just used NVidia inspector for locking frames and other various things around on internet in there recommendations. I will attach everything and would appreciate if people could help me fix my FSX and NVidia inspector if need be to get these stable frames. I must also mention that I stream the middle screen on 1920*1080 to twitch sometimes on fsx and obs. Many thanks Bradley FSX CFG (Same on both cfgs performance wise really) 1: http://pastebin.com/ezqqUUR0 FSX CFG 2: http://pastebin.com/M7e4fTmw NVIDIA INSPECTOR profile: http://i.imgur.com/uWRG9ox.png
  6. Hi Guys, So I've recently bought Prepar3D 2.5 and already finding issues. I run 4 screens, 3 on surround on a gtx 970 at a total res of 5760x1200 and a small vga monitor on another card for maps. Anyway I get a lot of stuttering. I'm not finding fps very stable either. I have been streaming through OBS aswell which was part of the middle screen and at 1920x1080 res streaming. Anyway I use NVidia inspector purely to set fps to 30. I've tried just without any tweaks and with and still this horrible stutters in the vc and unstable 20-30fps. Below will be my current config. I also use orbx ftx global and England. System --=--=-- i7-3770k @ 4ghz EVGA GTX 970 8gb Ram Current config: http://pastebin.com/fUhTrLgj I must also mention all 3 monitors start at 1920x1200 Many thanks in advanced as I would really like to get prepar woking nicely Bradley I fly around England a lot. Home airport mainly Gatwick (EGKK).
  7. Hello all, I recently purchased another monitor and a GTX680 to utilize a triple monitor Surround/Eyefinity setup. All was well, until I saw the rain. Wow! What an awful effect. And, furthermore, the rain graphic was not nearly filling the entire drawing surface at certain angles, especially in spot view. Basically, it looks like the rain effect is very simple. FSX simply draws a transparent cylinder that is always transformed to screen space. This cylinder is textured with a repeating series of small rain textures which are scaled lengthwise to the rain intensity as well as moved along the surface of the cylinder a bit each frame. FSX then rotates this cylinder based on various inputs, such as wind direction, aircraft velocity, and camera movement. All in all, the effect is pretty darn terrible, but given the limited number of inputs passed in to the shader, there's not a whole lot that can be done. However, I was able to fix a few problems. Firstly, the rain cylinder will no longer be cut off at extremely wide resolutions. The problem was that the cylinder was intersecting with the camera plane, and therefore clipped. I also incorporated the prior suggested fix for the opposite problem, which is when the cylinder intersects with the environment and gets clipped. The solution in the first case was to scale the rain cylinder 4x in the x and y directions, and in the latter case to disable z-buffer tests. I also took the liberty of decreasing the opacity of the rain a touch as well as making the streaks a little smaller. This reduces the "millions of fat laser beams" effect. At very wide exterior zooms this looks marginally worse than the original, and better in pretty much all other cases. I have attached the .fx file. Place it into your ShadersHLSL\misc\ folder in your FSX install. Be sure to make a backup of the original as well as delete the DX10 shader cache before running FSX. The shader cache can be found in your Windows user folder, under AppData (Application Data in XP), then local\Microsoft\FSX\. Just remove the Shaders10 folder and FSX will rebuild the shader cache. You can find the file here: http://www.sounduit.com/rain40.zip -Matt
  8. Hi, The sounds are great as they are. I did a quick search - should I be getting surround sound for the QOTS II ? Is there an option? Or did I see a reference that it was coming at some point. Really enjoying the 744 - some great work and well worth the wait. Congrats to the Beta team for some very thorough testing - the RTM is a great example of some quality work that has been given some comprehensive testing. Thanks Scott
