Hello. My problem is that I cannot experience overcast conditions at high altitudes. For example when cruising at 37000 feet I go to "set wx" menu and try adding cloud layers with high base eg. 39000 or 33000 feet oe whatever and setting big thickness value it doesnt create them. It is always the same. I can see the nightsky and stars clearly every time climbing pass around 14000-17000 feet. I know there are high altitude thunderstorms that cant be flown over in real life, why cant I simulate one in as2012? Everything works fine at low altitudes (below about 14000 feet). Am I doing something wrong with the settings? Using DWC, flying PMDG ngx. Anyone? Thanks! Kaj Ekström

Hi, I've missed the ASE discounted upgrade time window, so I'm OK with ASX for now. I want to upgrade, but first I want to see something that depicts real mesocyclones that make pilots of heavies raise their voice when they talk to ATC. You have the most meteorologically advanced add-on to FSX and sometimes through a random happenstance of cumulous and cirrus layers combining, it is possible to take a screenshot that from a distance looks like a genuine anvilhead, but I was wondering if you guys are working on creating complete cells that work as a unit and in RL are a no-no to fly into? Thanks.

http://airfactsjournal.com/2013/09/thunderstorm-flying-in-the-age-of-datalink-weather/?utm_source=airfacts&utm_medium=email Datalink radar or onboard radar? XM or ADS-B? Panel mount display or iPad? The options for receiving and viewing in-flight weather have never been greater, with a proliferation of affordable and capable avionics coming on the market over the past decade. This is a great problem to have–airline pilots of 50 years ago would have killed for any of these options–but it’s still a problem. Which one is best? And what’s the right way to use each tool?
