  1. Sorry for my bad english Now all views deleting and they need to be re-created. Why, if there is a ready-made. E.g. Aerosoft PBY Catalina It has a lot of devices located throughout the cabin. Create new species is not a good idea. Thank you.
  2. HI all, I have setup a full cockpit using mostly the Opencockpits products. I have one large monitor and of course I don't need any sort of cockpit view. I only want an external view looking out of the cockpit and I want to be able to pan left and right without a static view looking out. I use the 2D cockpit view (not the virtual cockpit view) and close the panels so all I see is outside the aircraft looking forward. When I pan left and right though I see the 3D view of the right window and the 3D view of the left window. I simply want to be able to pan left and right while looking out without seeing any sort of cockpit view. Is this possible? Thanks!
  3. X-Camera, from Stick and Rudder Studios a is an enhanced camera system for X-Plane 9 and 10 that lets you define multiple view categories and multiple views within those categories that are associated with specific aircraft. Take a look at this short tutorial on YouTube. Download from these two locations: X-Plane.org StickandRudderStudios.com Features TrackIR Each view can enable or disable the TrackIR input. If the view is out the cockpit window having TrackIR enabled is desirable. However, if the view is a close-up of an instrument panel then having TrackIR disabled is probably the better choice since the view will be stable making it easy to click on cockpit controls with the mouse. We also support LinuxTrack on Linux and Mac systems. HeadShake If the HeadShake plugin from SimCoders is installed then the view can accept input from HeadShake. Similar to the TrackIR feature you will likely want this enabled for certain views but disabled for views on instrument panel close-ups where a stable camera makes it easier to use a mouse to control cockpit knobs and switches. The HeadShake plugin must be at version 1.3 or higher for the integration to work. Smooth Transition When this option is enabled the camera with smoothly transition from one view to another over approximately half a second. When the option is off the view will transition immediately. Views can be controlled in a number of ways •Each view can be positioned by using keyboard keys or a control panel •The camera’s X, Y, Z, Heading, and Pitch can all be adjusted for each view •Views can be assigned to a HotKey or JoyStick button for easy selection •A HotKey or JoyStick button can be used to navigate to next or previous views •The views for a specific aircraft can be saved to a CSV file for easy editing Walk Mode Any view’s camera can be placed in Walk Mode. While in this mode the camera can be walked or floated around using keyboard input. If you ever played the video game asteroid that is what walk mode is like. The mode is particularly useful for pre-flight inspections of your aircraft. You can create a external view and after selecting that view you can “Walk” the camera around checking out your landing gear, props, etc. Linear Transitions and Auto Advance Linear transitions allows you to define a transition between two adjacent cameras in category. This capability, in conjunction with the auto advance feature, allows you define fairly sophisticated animations that can be used for automated Pre-flight inspections, scenery viewing, and cool transitions affects that can be used when creating flight videos. All the transitions in our YouTube video were done with X-Camera. What's New in Version 1.0 1.0 Added support for LinuxTrack. Read the LinuxTrack section of this manual for more detail Added support for 8 way hat switch panning Added middle mouse button simulation for easier mouse look operation on Linux and Mac Added enhanced transitions that allow you to create very cool affects for making flight movies. Also added license key support for these more advanced features. Added command to restore a camera to its original position Added roll support for TrackIR, LinuxTrack, and HeadShake. X-Camera now supports a full 6 DOF with these three options. Fixed a problem where X-Camera was not able to save settings for each aircraft if there was more than one .ACF file in the aircraft directory.
  4. Hi, I am new to the forum so apologise if I am asking about something already covered, could not see my problem discussed.I have recently reverted to FS9 after failing with FSX. I have a Dell XPS linked to a Go Flight system, Saitek rudder pedals and a CH Flight Sim yoke. My problem started in FSX and has migrated to FS9 when reinstalled. My view automatically cycles through Cockpit, Virtual, External and Tower views without touching anything. I have searched for conflicts but without success. This never happened when I originally used FS9.Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.Happy Holidays everyone.K
  5. I just EXCA all set up and I like the effects but I have one big problem. Before I started using EZCA, to pan around from any view I would hold the space down and move my mouse to look. Then letting go of the space bar the view would stay locked wherever I was looking. Now with EZCA installed, whenever I use the space bar and mouse to look around, the view snaps back after I release the space bar. In other words, the view wont stay locked on whatever it is I want to look it. Please help!!!
  6. Hi Im new to xplane 10 so please excuse my ignorance. I have searched for solutions to this prob but could find nothing. The issue is when I hop in a plane in xplane and set the 3d cockpit command view I cannot adjust the camera at all. Mouse look doesnt work, the rotate left right etc keys dont work nothing moves the camera. Also when I select this view the camera is low and to the left like the pilot is a nine year old with balance problems. When I go into free camera view then all the keys and mouselook works again but the translate keys move super fast and the view shoots out of the cockpit with one press of either rotate view key.. Im so frustrated and dont get what im doing wrong. Can anyone help?? Cheers Cathal
  7. Hello When i switch from inside view to outside view...it defaults to the fly by view?? instead of my presets..i go back inside ,then outside once again and i works??? very strange..anyone else have this cheers
  8. Hi friends 😀 One of the best design features of X-Plane 11 is its excellent default view & eyepoint-movement controls. In a matter of minutes you can set up custom views and bind them to hotkeys from virtually anywhere inside or outside the airplane. Its also very simple to adjust the current view - just use the arrow keys. Example. Setting up a left wingview in a Boeing 737-800 in X-Plane 11 1. Use arrow keys to move backward through the flightdeck door to the passenger cabin. Keeping SHIFT pressed speeds up movement 2. Arrive at the window and use small taps of arrow keys to transition in the XYZ axis & mouse to adjust view direction. 3. Press CTRL + NUMPAD 4 Its done. Now to get to your left wingview from the Captains seat just tap NUMPAD 4 and you're smoothly and rapidly taken there. Press the same key to go back to the flightdeck. Numpad keys can be used to set up other views too. Perhaps you want NUMPAD 5 to look up at the overhead? Anyway, you get the idea. Does FS2020 have a similar system? The eyepoint view controls in FSX were so clunky.
  9. Hello, I would like to know if there is a general agreement on this or not: Given: FSX three-monitors (Nvidia surround) EzDok TrackIr5 no proper home-built cockpit, just few Saitek panels requirement to fly different GA models (so cannot be hyper-tuned on one model only) Which setup would you adopt and why? VC extending on the three monitors (surround with bazels) + EzDok for positions in cockpit + TrackIr to move eye direction VC extending on the three monitors (surround with bazels) + EzDok for positions in cockpit, but no TrackIR so that views on each monitor stays the same (i.e. central monitor always showing front view, right monitor always show right view, etc) VC on central monitor only + EzDok for positions in cockpit, but no TrackIR, + right fixed view on right monitor and left view on left monitor no VC at all. Fixed front view on central monitor, fixed left on left, fixed right on right. I know that #4 is very old-school, and that #1 is the most popular, but I would like to know if anybody prefers #2 or #3 and why. I fly exclusively GA (no airliners), bot VFR and IFR, but I don't think that matters to the main question. Cheers
  10. Does anyone know the best way to set your quick cam views for interior/exterior? I remember for the FBWA320 there as cameras.cfg file that you can go in to dial in the values to get the exact view that you want. But when trying to use the arrow keys and mouse to pan/zoom, its hard to get the camera directly in the center. I'm still waiting for chaseplane for MSFS. I hope the devs will bring it over. Using devmode in MSFS, is it possible to change the camera values inside the cameras.cfg file and have it automatically update without having to exit and reload the sim to see the changes? That would save me a ton of time and make editing the cameras so much easier. Also, PMDG 737 comes with a few preset cameras that I would like to bind, but don't know if its possible. Those cameras show up under 'SHOWCASE', and I'd like to be able to bind them to a keyboard shortcut. The only downside is that you cannot pan/zoom with those presets. But I know there's a way or hack to do it. Just forgot how. If someone remembers, please post it here. Thanks.
  11. i want this exact same view saved as one of my custom cameras. But it doesn't seem to work. This is one of the default views under the showcase camera. Does anyone know how I can get this exact view to save as a custom one?
  12. -1st view (The most common view) The Flight team composes mostly of warbird junkies sitting around thinking up ways to ruin us simmers' lives. They put all their efforts into making warbirds without cockpits. Then in some dark, back closet lies our heroes, the two team members working on Alaska and a beautifully modeled VC-enabled bush plane. -2nd view (The less common on) Most of the flight team puts their efforts into making Alaska and the future scenery areas, along with good, VC-enabled planes. Then, in some back, dark room lies the villains, cooking up a witches brew of cockpitless war birds....making the dough and squeezing out the monthly plane while Alaska is.... is... coming..... eventually. 3rd view (I think this is how it's like) The Flight team is split right down the middle, half of 'em helping out us simmers making real deal stuff while the other half hoarding helpless people's dough....
  13. Occasionally we like to post stats to show the AVSIM community how active and sizable it is. So, here are stats that are taken from 1 April through yesterday, 2 May. Number of people registered in the last month: The number to TOPICS created: The number of POSTS made in those topics: The top 10 forums in April: In the month of April, throughout all forums, there were over 1.3 million "reads" made. The top 10 forums represents a pretty good chunk of that number. It is nice to know that you are in good company and not alone!
  14. Hi, I have created my set of custom cockpit views for the two aircraft that I mostly use, that are the default C172 and the FBW A320. Each view has then been bound to its own joystick button...everything works fine but I would like to eliminate the annoying zoom change which occurs when I press twice the button assigned to a certain view. In other words, if, for instance, I have selected the pilot view and I press again the button assigned to that view (which usually may be necessary to recenter the view point after a panning around), then the zoom level changes and I have to press once more the same button to restore the created view. Is there a way to avoid this zoom change ? Thanks Ezio
  15. I have a sidewinder 2 that i have had forever and works great, How do i set up the center hota's switch to get a quick 90 degree view left or right? I have tried in the assignments area but can only get a slow pan or a notch movement, I just want a quick look right and return center when i release the hota's, or left 90 degrees and return. Thanks
  16. Maybe really going over the top ...but is it possible to use Chaseplane and undocked views. I know when I create a view view from the p3dv3 menu bar..I get a new view but only can zoom in and out..(default p3dv3) but can use hat switch to move left to right, up or down etc. Anyway to do this where you can have multiple chaseplane views at the same time. I know I am asking a lot. Using P3dv3.4, windows 10 etc. Your software is spectacular!! Have a great day!!.. Hope you understand where I am coming from. Thank you, Bob M.
  17. The VC panel is different than when I select View->Instrument Panel. In other words, when I select instrument panel, the batteries are on and the engines running, yet when I switch to VC the engines are batteries and engines are off. Does this make sense? Has this issue been encountered before? Thanks much for any info!
  18. Frogive me if this is not the right place to post my topic. Has anyone else using the excellent product for PMDG had this problem. I have used the 737NGX with Ezdok v1.17 very well for many months, with no issues of moving between panel views. Recently I purchased TrackIR5 with the Eazy Pro Clip attachment. I have excellent views laterally i.e. left and right, and straight ahead. My problem is when I raise or lower my head to look at either the overhead panel or the pedestal. I have the limited views, for the overhead, I can only see upto the fuel pumps and APU, after that if I turn my head the view becomes distorted, and I cannot activate the switches etc; When looking down, I cannot see below the PFD and ND, the CDU and Pedestal are impossible to see. I spoke with support to TrackIR they said the problem could be either with the aircraft or FSX, but they did not know enough about either products to give me further advice. If anyone has had this problem would they tell me how they fixed it. Thank you As I said if this is not the correct forum for this post, apologise.
  19. So I have the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X for a joystick + throttle. It has a swivel thing on the joystick to pan around the cockpit, external views, etc. Just yesterday, it simply stopped working. The joystick was plugged in, I changed nothing. It just stopped working. I reset the controller and FSX + a restart on my PC. The joystick appeared to be working okay until I tried to pan around my cockpit. It now pans much slower than before. It's super slow! It appears to have extreme lag too. But when I hold shift and pan with the mouse, I have perfect frames! What could be wrong with my controller. Any insight would be great as I'm pretty lost here.
  20. An inherent bug in FSX can cause the sound to become mis-matched to the view. This can be corrected by pressing Q twice, which switches the sound off then back on. I tried to automate this correction by allocating a button on my controller to emulate keyboard button S followed by Q twice. The code in the FSUIPC.ini file is as follows: 7=P0,7,K83,8 8=P0,7,K81,8 9=P0,7,K81,8 I checked the codes for the keyboard keys by letting FSUIPC choose them, and they agree with those published in the FSUIPC Advanced Manual. However, when I press the designated button #7, the simulator retracts the landing gear! I would appreciate any assistance! PS I forgot to say that neither button S nor button Q were emulated at all.
  21. I want to change the "snap-to" position in the "Cockpit View: Virtual Cockpit" view when I hit the CTL-Spacebar key combo. Right now the default setting for CTL-Spacebar is level with the windscreen and leaves most of the instrument panel out of sight below the view. I'd like the CTL-Spacebar position to pitch lower so that it shows me the instrument panel and less of an out front view. I can do this easily by adding a new, modified virtual camera view to the aircraft.cfg, but then I have one more panel view in the set of available virtual cockpit views to cycle through. Instead, I'd rather do this for the default virtual panel view, but I don't know where the configuration settings are. There's not a default virtual cockpit view camera configuration in the aircraft.cfg file; instead there are camera settings for "MCP View", "FMC", "FO Seat", "Radio Stack", "Overhead Panel", just not one for the pilot's "Virtual Cockpit" view. Attached are two pictures. The first shows the default view I see when I hit CTL-Spacebar key combo. The second picture is the view I want to see. Sorry if this is real confusing, but I appreciate any help locating where to affect the change to the default Virtual Cockpit camera configuration settings Default 'Snap-To' Virtual Cockpit View When Hitting CTL-Spacebar The View I Desire to See When I Hit CTL-Spacebar Thanks, Doug
  22. You know how when you use mouse-look (shift O) in VC mode, it has a beautiful, fluid movement to it much like TrackIR? But when you use the hat switch to pan it has a very robotic, rigid 'fixed' way of moving that feels mechanical and crude? Is there any way to make is so that the hat switch looking behaves like the mouse-look panning? Fluid and more Human like? I tried a tweak that involved finding the cameras cnfg but the changes didn't make any difference. I"m using Win 7 so don't have the c/documents and settings/ et.etdc path. Rather its the c/users/app data/roaming-local etc. path. Anyway, if there's a way to do this I'd be greatly appreciative. Please be detailed in your description using windows 7 paths if possible. Thank you so much!
  23. for some reason, almost al of my instrument panel views have gone! Whenever i load a plane in fsx and do the key command for the GPS for example, a black box flickers where it should b and then disappears! then when i click on the views, instrument views button on the FSX toolbar, its show a tick next to the GPS button even when its not there. This happens for almost all my instrument views but then some still work. Also, not sure if this is relevant or not, but i dont seem to have a Gauges folder in the FSX files (not sure if there had ever been one though!) Anyway, hope someone can help,
  24. Hi all! this is my first post here I hope its in the right place. Got to thank the AMAZING flight simmer community for tons and tons of valuable info that has enhanced my FSX experience in the last couple weeks since I got my hands on the software. Found the following resource for configuring camera views and just had to create some 'approach/taxi' cam views that I felt was sorely missing. Not for the hardcore simmers preference of viewing the world from inside the confines of your virtual cockpit, but for training I wanted views that showed a rear camera/front facing/top down angle of the whole aircraft and the land below (the default tail view doesnt do that for me). http://www.fstipsand...sx-cameras.html I have apended 4 views to the cameras.cfg file (found in same FSX folder the fsx.cfg is located in), as well as enabling the hidden AI aircraft views and disabling 2 of the tower views I never used. Feel free to backup you cameras.cfg file and try my own file (right click cameras.cfg/left click copy/right click in directory/left click paste - then open cameras.cfg and delete all text replacing with the complete cfg version below), or just add the views onto the end of the file, making sure the cameradefinition.xx numbers are unique (by default they should be if you havent edited the file before). Here is the complete cfg file that I now use followed by just the additions I made for these extra views if you just want to add them. I put some time in making them all work with the default aircraft in FSX so I think you will find them very useful ********************************complete cameras.cfg file******************************************* [CameraDefinition.001] Title = Cockpit Guid = {B1386D92-4782-4682-A137-738E25D1BAB5} Description = This is the description of the cockpit view Origin = Cockpit ShowPanel = Yes SnapPbhAdjust = Ordinal SnapPbhReturn = True PanPbhAdjust = Ordinal PanPbhReturn = True Track = None ShowAxis = FrontOnly AllowZoom = TRUE InitialZoom = 1.0 SmoothZoomTime = 2.0 ShowWeather = Yes XyzAdjust = TRUE ShowLensFlare=FALSE Category = Cockpit HotKeySelect=2 [CameraDefinition.002] Title = Virtual Cockpit Guid = {C95EAB58-9E4A-4E2A-A34C-D8D9D948F078} Description = This is the description of the virtual cockpit view. 25. HiHas anyone seen this beforeIf I pan with my hat switch or num lock to change views, The sim will never go back to the proper original centre eyepoint. It is always looking at some weird spot then I have to hit a reset eyepoint button to get my forward view backHow do I reset the return view ( maybe this is a general fsx command or joystick reset but Im not sure)How do I reset the sims basic views , Almost forgot ,,,, this only seems to happen in the 2d cockpitThoughtsThanksPeter
