Which would you recommend? As I've been testing this afternoon, my computer seems to have better performance when in full screen mode. However, when something pop up it flick like hell. I always use windowed mode and don't care too much about the full screen. Now that it improves my FS performance, maybe I will think twice :D

Hello. Not sure if this is the right area to post this. I just about have my new sim pit set up. Waiting on a new 27" monitor and have a used 24" monitor from the folks. My video card has two DVI connections. I just wanted to know, because I'm sure people have done this before, will it be possible to run a program like Plan-G on the smaller monitor and to run FSX on the larger monitor without running FSX in windowed mode? Is there anyway around this? Can I somehow tell Windows not to treat the other monitor like an extension of the desktop, but still get Plan-G to open on the smaller monitor or drag it there? I just really don't want the windowed outline that comes with windowed mode, it kills immersion. Maybe a silly question, but if I have to run it in windowed mode can I get rid of the outline somehow? I swear that I have seen someone run this setup online and not have the outline. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I think this is probably the first time I've actually posted on the avsim forums, despite having been a member for several years! Anyway, I'm really hoping that someone may be able to help with some ideas, or even better a solution to my problem, because it's driving me mad! Basically, in the last few days I've suddenly started having a problem with FSX that I've never had before - when I switch between full screen and windowed mode, or even when I minimise FSX and then open up the window again, or return to the main window after going into a menu item like Aircraft settings etc, I'm getting a variety of weird graphics glitches. The graphics oddities are wide ranging, and include the following: 1. completely black screen 2. scenery partly or completely disappears, leaving just ground visible 3. part of the virtual cockpit becomes invisible (usually the MCP and floor) 4. the FSX menu bar becomes invisible 5. The sky goes black, but clouds are still visible 6. The ground goes white, and the sky goes black I've never had this issue before. I'm running an EVGA GTX 780 card on a Windows 7 64bit system. This graphics issue happens both with the latest NVidia drivers, and the previous one. I'm also running a dual screen set up, but this problem occurs whether I have one or two screens set up. I have tried uninstalling the graphics drivers completely, and doing a complete clean reinstall. I've got the UIautomationcore.dll file in place, I'm also using an unmodified fsx.cfg file. Don't have ENB installed, and am not using DX10 in FSX. The machine is a core i7-4930k, overclocked to 4.4ghz, on an Asus Rampage Formula IV board, with 16gb of DDR3 so it's not a resource issue (I hope). Has anyone encountered similar issues? Is there a fix for this problem? I'd be really grateful for any advice - I really don't want to go through the pain of reinstalling FSX if I can avoid it! Appreciate any help, Tim

I am running 6 monitors on 2 GTX690's and need to force FSX to open in windowed mode. When I hit fly it crashes. Not an issue in X-Plane because it opens in a window. What can I put in the fsx.cfg to force FSX to launch in a window? Can't find a post with a similiar issue. Any ideas would be great. Thanks, /jim

As some of you know P3D is not supported by AMD crossfire. It is because P3D runs in windowed mode to allow different kinds of multi monitor settings as I understood. Unfortunately crossfire wont run in windowed mode. As I just bought a AMD 295x2 card i tried to get support from AMD. After many tries to get an appropriate answer from if they plan windowed mode crossfire support in the near future, they wrote; "No, AMD wont support the windowed mode crossfire in the future." - Means never. So for everybody outhere who have or plan a multi monitor flight sim with good settings AMD should not be the brand of your chose.
