Hi PMDG, I know you guys have released a fantastic product, but for your consideration I have two requests for features at some point in the future. 1.) Enable the pneumatic brake system please. I know it's labelled INOP (and probably is on the real aircraft), but It's tempting to look at that fully charged air bottle and know that I cannot ever use it 2.) Animate the windshield heat exhaust levers. The manual instructs us that these switches must be set to NORMAL (Under floor) when the window heat is set to ANTI-ICE. Unfortunately, the levers cannot be moved (I can't even find the CA one.) Thanks for the consideration, Robert Toten

Hi I have the pmdg 737ngx for fsx and everything is running smoothly on windows 8.1. Now, I'm really like the ''queen of the skies 747'' by pmdg and I'm planning on getting it soon. Have anyone got any personal experience with it on Windows 8.1 Cheers Marcus Grunnesjö

I've seen some questions about why some 3rd party repaints have opaque windows. Since there was no documentation included with the paintkit, painters had to figure out what was controlling the opacity of the windows. After some investigation, I discovered that the opacity of the windows is controlled on the Alpha layer as shown below on the FWD_T texture. The paintkit made no mention of this (there was no readme or instructions), and the all white, BMP files included for the texture maps did not even contain an alpha layer of any sort. The best thing to do is refer to an existing paint and review its alpha layer for guidance.

Hi, I have just bought a new Dell inspiron 15r (unfortunately with defaulted windows 8) and have installed FSX on it, but notice it keeps crashing whenever I start, load, save or end a flight when I've crashed the plane. I have installed the 2sp's for FSX but that hasn't fixed the problem. I have also updated win 8 to 8.1 but that still hasn't fixed the problem. I only use Just Flight 742s, 743s, 332s, 333s, 342s, 343s, and md80s and have no freeware planes taken out. All of the settings except graphics and aircraft quality are at absolute minimal! How do I fix this? (BTW I also have an unused Win 7 Dell XPS Gaming Laptop that's currently at the repair shop 'cause of some hard drive difficulty. Hello everyone, This is my first post on this forum. Have been flying fsx on laptops for 5+ years. Just finished my airline pilot training and now about to order a custom build. I have lot's of questions... Please find the build specs in the PDF attached. This was proposed by the company who will build it. PC Flight Sim 2014.pdf Right now the build is an I5 4670k, 8GB corsair 1600mhz, (GTX 660 2GB), Asus B85M-e 1. Win7 vs Win8 : I am used to Win7. If Win8 is better for performance, I would consider it. The shop says that the price is the same.. 2. P3DV2 vs FSX: Never tried P3D... I just want stability and frame rates. With Opusfsx, PMDG, Carenado and some scenery. 3. SSD??: Do I need this? I have one in my laptop. But if the performance is not really affected in flight sims, I will take a WD HDD The last question is related to the P3D vs FSX: 4. GTX660 or better?: Since P3Dv2 uses more GPU, is it worth dropping the SSD and adding better gpu? Or is this fine? I want my pc to be balanced for flight sim. Hello, What is the best OS for FSX??????I currently have Windows XP HE SP3 32bit and it runs great, frames slider to unlimited, 45-55fps with no stutters, but when I tried Windows 7 HP 32bit, The frames are around 60fps but often dip to 30, hence; STUTTERING!!! I would much rather prefer Windows 7 because it is the newest, but these stutters are really annoying. I CANT lock frame rates because in complex aircraft like PMDG MD-11 they will go down to 8fps, but when i set it to unlimited it hangs around 50 with occasional dips to 30. How can i fix this?? I already tried disabling Aero Theme, and setting Windows for maximal performance, but that doesnt help....... Will installing SP1 for Windows 7 help???? hello guys ive searched goodgle for a week now...anyone had a real fix.. ? windows post started they are ignoring it like its not a problem i tried all usb power fixes nothing works lose my joystick and i cant just do any flight in FSX....so any help please !! : (

So my Flight Sim X has started crashing to desktop again. With that and my joystick losing calibration flying is no longer enjoyable. I am on windows 8 and have had frequent CTDs before. I completely eliminated the problem by installing the vista version of UIAutomationCore.dll inside C:/FSX. Well now it is still crashing. Hello everyone, I had finally got my P3D v2.5 , but when i try to run it , the Sim looks sharp , i have tried different settings whether from sim settings or AMD CCC, oh , BTW here is my hardware spec. My FSX laptop recently broke down and I had my friend fix it. He said he'll install Windows 7 for me. I was both excited and worried. I'm an amateur user to Windows 7 (Since my high school computers' system is Windows 7), but since I haven't used FSX in Windows 7, I'm worried as to the errors that may occur. I've read some forums and saw that FSX runs into problems when running under Windows 7. Can you guys give me any advice when running FSX under Windows 7? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

Hello all, I was wondering if someone could help me because I've been struggling a bit with few details on my first PMDG 737 NGX livery. it's almost done and I'm pretty happy with what's done so far but now I'm trying to fill up to some passenger windows. I have seen it done on some liveries that I have downloaded so I know it's possible but I don't know how. I'm talking about this: On the fuselage_master (Photoshop file) I've tried everything I can imagine to do this but without success. I have for example tried to remove some windows from the "windows frame" filter and many other things. So if someone out there can help me I would be very thankful!! ^_^ All the best, Sindri

Hello, I had been using EFB on W8.1 without any problems. Yesterday I saw that W10 had gone RTM so I figured it was really stable now. I did some research about the behavior of P3D and addons on W10 and it seemed to be all good so I upgraded. My SSD had filled up so I decided to do a clean install of W10 (Reset this PC option on Windows). I reinstalled the addons that I had and they all work fine except EFB. When you first set up the Data Provider I ecnountered this: I figured it was nothing and continued with the setup of the Display Unit only to find this: This weird letter spacing again. I knew something was wrong but I hoped that it wouldn't interfere with the usability of the application. After I went through all the tabs and configuration this popped up: I already posted on the Aivlasoft forums but the dev told me he had no experience with Windows 10 so he didn't know what caused this and he told me to check that .NET 3.5 was enabled, which it was. I tried updating my .NET but every time it said that an equivalent or superior version was already installed. Another guy was kind enough to install the trial on his W10 machine and said it worked fine (with the same version of .NET as me). I hope someone here can shed some light on what is causing this because I'd really like to use this tool without going back to W8.1. Thank you. Jerry

now i have had problems (with every singel aircraft in the game Default, payware, freeware) is the aircraft view not working it says in the corner that i am still in the virtual cockpit even though i aint i press on the "aircraft" catorgory in EZCA it hops outside but say i am still in the VC and missing textures. but everthing else is working. and yes i have Version 1,18 ps took a picture but cant figure out how to put it in best regards Oscar

Hello everybody, a while ago (7 months+ i think) I purchased Windows 8 but quickly switched back to windows 7 because of all the issues with joysticks for FSX and so on. Now, since it's been a while and I switched to XPX and P3D V2 is coming "soon" i'm thinking of switching back. I did really like it unlike most people. I'm just curious on whether I will still have joystick issues or anything else. Thanks! P.S I have been hearing quite a lot about Win8 8.1. If i re install Win8 should I update to it?

Hi everyone, Finally got a good rig. It came with a 220GB SSD (boot) and a 1TB hard drive. I have, from my older computer, a 1TB SSD which I used as my boot drive. I'd like to use that drive in place of the 220GB SSD that came with the new computer. How can I do this? Also... bonus question: when I set up my new computer, it asked for my Windows password. I didn't realize it wanted my login password for the PC (rather than my XBOX login) so I reset it... no big deal. However, when I put my SSD back in my old computer and started up (now using my new password) I got in without issues, but it no longer recognizes me as Administrator, the background is solid black, a bunch of icons are just white pages and I can't launch a bunch of programs! Any ideas? thanks! Andrew -

Hi guys, I've upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for three months. Since then, there is no problem with my PC at all and I use it daily. However, today after powering up it, I noticed it ran slower than other days. I open up Task Manager and found that one svchost.exe process (many of them were running there) was using a lot of my CPU resource. I can kill it and of course, I have killed it, however, after a while, it automatically starts and begin to eating my CPU. What should I do now? -
Hi all, The windows of my POSKY 777 VC's is no longer transparent. The glass is colored blue and I can't see through it. I used to have this working so I believe this could be because I recently switched to DX10. I'm using DX10SceneryFixer. I tried Googling this issue but no real matches. Does this sound familiar/anyone have a suggestion to fix it? Pity not to use these beautiful addon aircraft anymore! Thanks in advance for your help! -
Whenever i turn on my computer from sleep mode my monitor is all green like this color and then returns to normal after a few seconds, it used to do it every once in a while now it does it all the time...i have no idea if my graphics card is going out or if its my monitor. If someone could help me out that would be great! -
Hello all,I'm a Win 7 64 bit user. I have Ubutu Linux installed on a seperate partition but have not played with it much..So, on to my question..any performance advantages from wiin 7 to linux? Is one quicker than the other?I would like to try XPX on Linux, but to be honest, I don't know anything about linux and have no idea how to go about getting the exe to install :( LOL..If someone could drop a hint on how to get the program to install, I'd appreciate it :( tried the usual win double click but no joy.Thanks

Hi, I am a long time user of MSFS and have bought a new Dell inspiron 15r with Windows 8 on it and have installed FSX on it. After finding out it keeps on crashing, I brought down the settings on everything except Graphics and Aircraft Quality but that didn't work. I tried uninstalling all freeware aircraft I had on FSX and sticking with all my payware planes but that didn't work. I installed the two Service Packs for FSX AND Tried updating to Windows 8.1 but even that didn't work. I love FSX but now it's becoming really frustrating :angry: as it crashes whenever I save, load, start, end or accidentally crash into terrain. I have tried converting fsx.cfg into Fsx.orig but that made my computer really slow for 2 minutes. I have adequate RAM, Hard Drive Space and Video Card but it just doesn't work! How can I solve this? Thanks. ======================================= Computer Specs: Dell Inspiron 15R with Intel i7 Core with 2GHz and an AMD Radeon Graphics Card with 8GB RAM and 1TB Hard Drive Space (793GB Remaining).

The computer that I am buiding up has two Memory Hard disks: 1st Hard Disk 480GB INTEL® 520 SERIES SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW) 2nd Hard Disk 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 32MB CACHE Which of these should I install windows 7, fsx and the addons?? Thanks guys -
I don't know if anyone does this, but an improvement that I would like to see implemented would be to have a rain effect on the windows. I noticed that when it is raining, the windows are the same. It would be really cool to see the windows get wet, and I think the visibility through the windows when they are wet vs dry would add to the immersion and give a more realistic feel. Maybe that would have a huge impact on performance, but I don't know. What do you think? Austin Hohenshelt
