Well, my Cyborg X has just died yesterday, the rudder trimpot has a split contact that rendered the whole joystick unusable, specially since these parts are non serviceable (maybe if I short circuit two of the rudder wires, I could recover the rest of the stick, but still no rudder) :(. Anyway, I'm thinking about both Saitek X52s, the standard and the Pro. However, there are some differences starting with price ($40 more for the Pro in Amazon): - Stick stiffness: I understand the Pro is stiffer than the standard, but how high are the forces comparing with the Cyborg X? I couldn't stand the stiffness in the Cyborg and had to do what others did with the X45: http://members.chell...in6/mod_spring/ - The MFD in the X52 Pro: FS9 is not natively supported, but there is the Blackswift interface, which makes the Pro version worthwhile. Has anybody been able to run it successfully in Windows 7 64-bit?

When I first plugged in my brand new X52, the joysticks lights would flash. That seemed to have fixed itself. Now the joystick won't work. It lights up and turns on but that's about it. I have calibrated it and nothing works. The throttle works fine though. Please help.

Hi guys, First of all thank you for taking your time reading this. Ok so i just purchased the Saitek X52 Pro but i am unable to make it work properly on P3D V3. I have look around everywhere and the little information i had found is only for p3d v2.X. I went into saitek website to download the MFD plugin but it says it is for p3d v2. There is nothing in their forum that mentions P3D v3 at all. Im just wondering if you guys have any work around to install it manually using the P3D v2 installation. Let me mention that i try installing it using the v2 one and the gauge does not show on the Sim to control the MFD. Also it would be nice just to have some directions on how to add a gauge manually.

With the 737 on the FSX I'm facing this odd problem the last time: I start the engines with the APU as normal, the starters cuts out and I can switch on the engine generators. But they won't produce any bleed air and they won't react on my throttle inputs, while the thrust levers are moving and the takeoff configuration warning horn sounds. Another odd fact: The are only at an idle n1 of about 20 %. If I save this panel state and reload it, I got an engine failure and they have miraculously stopped. PMDG Setup also says, there are no active failures. Even if I restart them they won't react, but sometimes, if I choose another livery or hitting <control>+<E> helps. (I'm aware of the isolation valve and packs should be off while starting etc.) Any suggestions?

Everything went fine in the past months, but today, I load my -700 and noticed that on every control input the frame rate drops about 20-25fps. Without any input the frame rate is fine (around 45-50), but when I move the stick it drops... :( I use X52 for years with no problem till today. Does anyone have the same satuation?

Hi guys, I'm new to this AVSIM community and I have a couple of questions. I love planes, however, I haven't been able to successfully fly one in a flight simulator. As a teenager, I want to be a pilot when I grow up, so this is important to me. I have a Mac with Windows 7 on Boot Camp, and I have Flightgear on my Mac partition and FSX Acceleration on my Windows partition. After I upgraded to 10.8 on my mac, FG stopped working, so I turned to FSX on Windows. I love it, and I really want to learn how to fly. I have been using the tutorials, but finding extremely hard to taxi and navigate in general with the keyboard. In fact, it is impossible for me. When landing, I can't even line up with the runway and when taxiing, I apply too much power and go in crazy circles. My parents have offered to buy me the Saitek X52 Flight System for Christmas, and from what I see it looks amazing. My questions are: 1. I'm a lefty, but I've never used a joystick before. I think using it in my right hand would be no problem, considering there's no feel I'm used to already. Will this be ok? 2. Will getting the X52 significantly help me learn how to fly? I heard that FSX is nearly impossible with a keyboard and a joystick makes all the difference. 3. Are there any other lessons than the base tutorials they offer for me to download that will help me understand planes better? I don't understand some basic functions, like how to start the engines and what the function of flaps are. Thank you everybody so much in advance! I hope to get help from the FSX geniuses themselves Thanks -RF
