Hello! I need a controller for FSX and stuff to fly the things I always and usually only fly (Boeings and Cessnas)... Please tell me what I should get for the controller. As for addons, I already know I want --- FTX ORBX Global REX 4 texture Direct Active Sky Next Thats 179 dollars right there....If I get the X55 Hotas, I wont have a problem with getting that and those 3 addons, Or, I can get Saitek pro flight yoke + throttle (the one it comes with) Saitek Pro flight Rudder Pedals FTX REX 4 ASN That will cost around 450$ I have 290, But in like One month I will have ATLEAST 390...EITHER way I have to wait til the end of this month to get anything. So what makes more sense for me? A yoke or a joystick? is the saitek yoke nice, no lag, good quality, feel real? I can just get the Yoke, Rudder, EXTRA throttle to have two and a swtich panel but no addons so FSX wont look good....Should I just do that? So lets count that.... What should i get??? Thanks

Hello. I've encountered issues setting up the X55 Rhino with FSX and mainly settign up axis and buttons with FSUIPC, and with the help of Pete Dowson and a bit of luck I must say I've come to a solution so I'm making a topic here so that it might serve other using the same hardware. This isue appeared for me with a Windows 8 64bits and FSX, but if you have a later Windows or P3D and have the same issue you may give it a try. The symptoms My joystick was installed with the official driver, and the official software (but even without the official drivers) the issue was present. When I was going within FSUIPC and in the Axis Assignement panel, I could detect movement from my rudder pedal set, and from the rhino throttle part, but nothing from the Stick part. After checking the FSUIPC.ini file the Joystick was definitely there, but still it would not do a single thing. As a common issue too, in the windows control panel, I could as well test my throttle and see all axis and buttons movement. But I would have an error message on the stick part. Solution During my search for the issue I came upon a small programe named JoyIDs that is available at : http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm%C2'> I decided to change the ID for the stick, at the beginning I had the Throttle with ID #1, the Stick with ID #2 and the Rudder with ID #3. I switched with this application the ID from #2 to #11 (which I chose randomly). And that was the Eureka moment. Suddenly the calibration page started to work within windows, and then of course as well within FSUIPC. So if you're faceing this issue it might be worth trying. On a final side note if you're using the throttle axis with PMDG aircrafts you will need to put the UseAxisControlsForNRZ=Yes on your FSUIPC.ini file in the JoystickCalibration part. Otherwise you will have issue like the throttle changing the thrust while the A/T is on (on level flight) as well as a wrong position blue line for the throttle position if you've enabled that PMDG option. Cheers!

Hi, I recently acquired the x-55 and it works really great, however I do have some minor problems. One of them being rather annoying. I would like to use the speedbrake slider on the x-55 throttle to.... use the speedbrake in game ... who would have thought! In the P3D Axis settings menu I try to slide the Speed Brake Slider (SBL), however P3D seems unable to recognize it as a valid Axis. I tried the exact same thing in FSX and there it is automatically recognized as a valid speedbrake axis. Does anyone else have the same problem, or even better a solution? Thanks in advance! Mark

I am experiencing a weird situation with my X55 throttle, FSUIPC5, PD3v4.1 and the PMDG 777. Basically, when I advance the throttle from idle, the speedbrake arms and the reversers deploy, then as I progress the throttle, the reverses go to idle and the normal engine thrust kicks in. Is there some setting I am missing that defines a region of the throttle as 'reversers'? If so, where is it located? I have controllers disabled in P3D and run everything through FSUIPC. I don't see this with other aircraft (non-PMDG). Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to fix it?

Hi, I hope someone may be able to help. My X55 joystick has been getting very noisy recently and quite stiff to operate. Has anyone any tips on the best way of lubricating the mechanics and what to use? I haven't tried opening it up yet in the hope that I can get some advice from someone here who may know the the best way of going about it. Baz

Hello! I was deciding between the Saitek yoke and rudder or the X55. Dont wanna get too indepth but is the X55 good for boeings like the NGX 737 and cessnas or would it make sense to get the 6 year old yoke? Will using an X55 feel weird and is it any good to set flaps as there isnt really a lever or anything like that? You get what I mean, If i want to fly Boeings and Cessnas, whats better? x55 or saitek yoke and rudder and what are the cons of both of them (the x55 and yoke, besides the rudder) and ill just tell me whats better for me. Please dont say its up to you, i dont want this to go too indepth, just looking for 1 or 2 straight forward answers Thanks in advance.
