May 29, 200224 yr HiI'm new to this so I apologise if this is a simple question, but there's so much to learn. Can someone please tell me what the red crosshatched area means in the 777 altitude indicator?ThanksRich
May 30, 200224 yr Rich,as far as I know it indicates the ground. In your case that would mean you are in the ground ;-)I guess your altimeter setting of 29.92 is wrong. You need to set it to the numbers given by ATC or ATIS.Hope I could help a bitBest regards
May 30, 200224 yr Thanks flying_eddie!What's odd though, is, I checked with ATIS and 29.92 was what was reported and what was set on the altimeter. I was stood on the runway at Lake Tahoe after completing the terrascene tutorial. Perhaps another factor is at play when the runway is at over 6000FT.Rich
May 30, 200224 yr More than likely it has to do with the Terrascened area. As a test, move the podded scenery out of the Fly folder and try again to see if this changes.
June 1, 200224 yr I tried it with the default scenery and there's no difference. How does the airplane know where the ground is anyway? Rich
