June 6, 200223 yr Can someone explain the function of the 757 VOR tuning control. When I try to manually tune a frequency and a radial, nothing seems to happen. I understand that the system provides for automatic tuning, but there are occasions when a station and radial need to be set manually.Thanks,Steve
June 7, 200223 yr Steve,After you set the VOR frequency and radial, go to the EHSI control panel on the throttle quadrant and change the EHSI MODE to VOR or FULL VOR. That will change the presentation on the EHSI to look much like a standard OBS or HSI.Hope that helps...
June 7, 200223 yr Kurt,Thanks for the reply. I already tried placing the switch in either one of the VOR positions, but when I attempt to set the radial there is no movement of the pointer on the HSI.Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.Thanks,Steve
June 7, 200223 yr Steve,To be honest, I haven't played with this that much, but it seemed to work as advertised when I did. (I flew the BORDR4 DP out of KSAN manually once or twice before writing the SID/STAR for KSAN.) I'll play with it later today and see if I can duplicate your problem.
June 7, 200223 yr Click on the knob below the VOR frequency display. Leave the mouse button pressed (it can be either one of them). The right one increases the frequency, the left decreases. Just select taht you want to use manual VOR and use your mouse buttons to pick the correct radial and frequency. You need to keep pressing the same mouse button until you reach the frequency.
