Autothrottle or Autobrakes...but not both!

Featured Replies

When I first ran my PMDG 757, I noted that the autothrottle response was really sluggish; the aircraft would establish a high thrust rate (about 1.50 EPR) and maintain that setting until red-line speed. It would then set about 1.10 EPR, and airspeed would decay to about 250 KIAS. The system would then repeat the sequence. The speed variance chit on the EADI just went like a very slow game of "Pong". I did however have spoiler deployment and braking action for a rejected takeoff or a landing.I followed the thread with Chris Catalano's autothrottle difficulties, and accordingly re-installed the 757. I now have responsive autothrottles. I have no autobraking whatsoever, however. I've gone through my settings in Fly!II and found nothing amiss. If I had to choose, I'd probably opt for the "live" A/T. But aerodynamic braking and autobraking are nice to have. There won't always be two miles of dry runway out there.System is a Micron; Intel P3 @667 MHz. 512 Mb RAM. Nvidia GeForce 3Ti, 64 Mb VRAM. Logitech Wingman Attack joystick.A little help would be appreciated...- Dave Reed
