Problem with VNAV and N1 in AP

Featured Replies

I have one problem. When i activate VNAV, N1 hold mode activate automatically, too. I think that is not correct because the AP hold N1 but not VNAV, speed overshoot is the consequence. Any idea?regardsMarcus

I'm having another problem..but still connected with VNAV mode.If I input an alt restriction for a waypoint in my FP I reset the MCP altitude to the new altitude.then when I reach the TOD point the plane just goes nose over and starts descending at 10.000 fpm rate..only spoilers anf FL/CHG slow the descent..it happened both with the -600/700 planes..anyone else seen this? Thanks.Regards,Bjorn Ghezzi

Marcus,When one engages VNAV while climbing, the AFDS pitch mode will engage in VNAV SPD, that is maintain commanded FMC speed using pitch command, and the AT will engage in N1 thrust mode, that is "give me all the thrust you can" within current thrust limits. This is normal, and might result upon engagement in a few knots overshoot, depending on current aircraft configuration. When a constraint is hit or cruize alt is met, VNAV will go from SPD to PTH mode, and the AT will switch to SPD mode, maintaining commanded speed with thrust, while pitch mode will command to maintain the path.hope this helps !anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
