July 1, 200322 yr hi all,as i type this i'm about 40nm from my T/D, flying the wonderful PMDG 737-600 .. i ordered this afternoon at about 12:15z and after a few tries (switching between explorer and netscape) i finally got my order through .. i received the confirmation email within 5 minutes .. opened the link in explorer .. didn't work, tried the same link in netscape, download started almost immediately ..i installed the package, fired up FS2002, loaded the plane and went to the registration menu to get my code, copied it to an email with my order number and sent it to PMDG .. did some flying, went to the hairdresser, got back home, watched some tv, and finaly checked my email again and there it was, my registration code ..i think the whole process of purchasing, installing, sending the codes back and receiving the final registration code took something like 5 hours .. not bad considering they give you a timeframe of 240 hours (10 days) as far as the plane is concerned, the only problems i have experienced so far is the steep diving in VNAV (4500fpm) and the fuel inbalance thing .. this last one is easy to fix, turn on the crossfeed and switch of the fuel pumps of the tank with the least amount of fuel, then when they are at the same levels again turn the pumps back on ..after reading so many negative responses in here, well, just wanted to say it works pretty good for me, and i'm convinced there are a lot more people like me out there ..great job guys!!
July 1, 200322 yr HERE HERE! I haven't got my code back yet, and it took an hour or so to get the email d/load link, then a little time to get the d/load to work. But hey PMDG are busy!Anyway - flies lovely. I love it! My only problem is VNAV. Seems very steep climbs compared to what I would expect (6000fpm with a medium load?!) and it lost it in the descent too. Was ok until LNAV made a left turn then it did 7000fpm descent - ah well thats what V/S mode is for :)Thanks,Ian
July 1, 200322 yr Hi LeFreak (real name please, forum rule)If you still have time (I'm currently working on the VNAV thing) set your target MCP alt to 3000 or something like that before TOD...It seems to be something related to setting MCP alt either above default restriction, or setting the MCP alt the same as first constraint... I'll check further...CheersanthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
July 1, 200322 yr Author i've already landed, things went pretty well, straight on centerline, only thing i noticed was that the nosewheel kept floating a bit, but that may be my mistake as i forgot to put on the autobrakes ..i'll do another flight and try your recommendation, see if that gets better. My previous flight i followed instructions from MS ATC so i started my descent way after the T/D indicated on the FMC .. if i remember correctly descent rates went up to 4700fpm but later stabilized at around 2800fpm .. gonna try again without atc and use your instructions .. i'll report back ;-)regards,Jan van Hecke
July 1, 200322 yr >if i remember correctly descent rates went up to 4700fpm but later stabilized at around 2800fpm .. This would happen if you started your descent late : you had "built-in" deviation, that the AFDS will try to compensate for to join the path !anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
