July 3, 200322 yr I had originally sent this question with my registration request, but that part of my email wasn't answered. I assume there are more folks like myself that may be interested in this topic, so I'll throw it out for discussion. First, I'll say that we all pay the price for software piracy, so I understand the reasons behind your registration and activation procedures. However, it restricts some of us honest folks that have multiple machines either in home cockit setups or desktop / laptop combinations. For example, I sim on my desktop at home, and when I frequently travel for work, I sim on my laptop. Your registration process only allows me to enjoy the PMDG 737 NG on one of those machines, unless of course I pay $80.00 for two copies. Even Microsoft, the ultimatum of anti-piracy, allows use of software on a laptop and desktop (they gladly activated Office XP on both my laptop and desktop). So to sum up - does PMDG have any plans to allow legitimate additional activations within reason (obviously not on an entire corporate network or anything to that effect)? Thanks,Travis
July 3, 200322 yr >Even Microsoft, the ultimatum of anti-piracy, allows use of software on a laptop and desktop (they gladly activated Office XP on both my laptop and desktop). What ! :-madAnd I paid *twice* +- 200 CHF for the XP upgrades...Oh well.... Bill ! Want a refund ! where are you hiding ????anthony(writing on personal behalf)
July 3, 200322 yr Sure sorry to hear that! Some OXP editions won't let you have it on two machines, such as OEM and the educational version. However, the full retail version license allows use on a desktop and laptop - as long as they are not in use simultaneously. Here it is from the horse's mouth. Maybe you can get that refund...Activation and Product Licensing PoliciesHow many installations can be made with one product license? Has this changed with the introduction of Product Activation? The underlying principles of Microsoft's software licenses have not changed. Microsoft's End User License Agreements (EULAs) have always stipulated the number of PCs that software can be installed on. Product Activation does not change that. Office XP may be installed on one PC. The primary user of Office may also install one copy on a laptop computer for their exclusive use.Now - if PMDG could only allow an activation for legitimate users on a desktop and laptop, I'd be happy. (Well - actually still waiting for a working key for my initial purchase, so maybe I am asking too much right now).
July 4, 200322 yr Hi !I'm also interessted in using the 737 on my Notebook too. Even "Flight 1" and "Captain Sim" can handle it. So any Information, of any Plans in letting us use the 737 on two Computers would be nice.ThanksTobias Timm
