September 17, 200322 yr I was playing with the FMC Route pages on an -800 last night and noticed the following variations between PMDG and the real aircraft.http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/737/ICAOEntry.jpgWhen an entry for only the ORIGIN and DEST airports were made, the airports appeared as blue circles on the MAP page with no green line inbetween them. When a single waypoint is entered, a dashed blue line appeared between only the DEST and waypoint (prior to ACTIVATION and EXECution). As per previous messages, prior to the entry of ICAO codes, the Route page showed dashes next to the ORIGIN airport and boxes next to the DEST airport. Entry of a DEST airport generated "ORGN" in the Origin slot and an "ORGN" blue circle on the MAP.Cheers.Ian.
September 17, 200322 yr As a matter of interest Ian, can you tell me what 'Terr Fail' means? Does it mean that the terrain avoidance system is disabled/inoperative?
September 17, 200322 yr "Does it mean that the terrain avoidance system is disabled/inoperative?"Yep.... Not sure why tho', Craig. Most likely, though, because the IRS's have been switched off. It also uses GPS info, but this would have been available. There is a Terrain Inhibit switch, but, I read, this generates a "TERR INHIBIT" flap, not a FAIL flag.http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/737/...bitSwitches.jpgThe above switches would come in mighty handy when the PMDG CAUTION TERRAIN messages are giving us a hard time ;-)Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian.
