SIDS & STARS parameters ?

Featured Replies

I'm working on updating the SIDS&STARS database for Norway, but I'm short of some parameters to use for intercepting a certain raidial from a VOR.I am familiar with the "hold hdg until radial xxx from navaid xxx" and the "not before xxx" parameters, but I find it impossible to pas a navaid and then do a right turn to intersept an outbound radial from the same navaid in one of my SIDS !I forgot to mention that I've tryed to use the INTERCEPT parameter, but it just gives me an "ERROR in line 20", and I don't get any RWY's nor SIDS awailable in my FMC.Could someone from the PMDG team, or someone else who are familiar with all the parameters that can be used to write SIDS&STARS paste them in here so we all can benefit from it !THNX !Regards,Steinar Thom

Steinar,Please post the line with the intercept you tried to use.anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

Here's the line with the intercept:SID SOPAR3D RNW 35 KEEP HDG UNTIL 4000 NAVAID VOO INTERCEPT RADIAL 106 FROM NAVAID VOO NAVAID ARDIP NAVAID SOPARIt's easy to get it to run in straight sequence betwen VOO-ARDIP-SOPAR, but it's suposed to overshoot VOO and intercept "R-106 VOO" from the north wich goes to ARDIP!As a matter og fact it should be "R-099 VOO" from VOO to ARDIP but I've discovered that ARDIP is somewhat missplaced in the navdata. Is there a parameter for an outbond HDG change from a VOR without refering to a new navaid ?Thanks,Steinar

Is it possible to tell it which direction to turn? Aren't there some SIDs with greater than 180-degree turns (e.g., flying 000, left to 090)?Will the SID/STAR grammar be described in the upcoming documentation?Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Here are some new lines and a couple of screens to clearify the picture a bit. With theh SID:SID SOPAR3D RNW 35 KEEP HDG UNTIL 4000 NAVAID VOO HDG 163 INTERCEPT RADIAL 106 FROM NAVAID VOO NAVAID ARDIP NAVAID SOPARI'm getting this result:It is suposed to pas VOO and then do a right turn to HDG 163 to intercept "R-106 VOO"http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21576.jpgIf I take out the NAVAID VOO from the SID, I am getting this result:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21577.jpgAny sugestions on what to do here ?Steinar Thom

It's obvious and understandable that the PMDG team have been bussy solving major problems and bugs related to the initial release 24/7 for the last couple of weeks.Nevertheless I think it would have been an easy task for you to just paste out a short explanation to the grammar or parameters for how the SIDS & STARS are written.Anyway, here is what I came up with at last, and it is fairly close to what my intentions were.SID SOPAR3D RNW 35 KEEP HDG UNTIL 4000 NAVAID VOO KEEP HDG UNTIL 16.3 FROM NAVAID FLS HDG 110 UNTIL 7 FROM NAVAID VOO KEEP HDG UNTIL RADIAL 099 FROM NAVAID VOO FIX ARDIP NAVAID SOPARAll I really wanted it to do was to pas VOO and intercept R-099 VOO with a nice S-slope, but unfortunantly this seems to be totally impossible. But I would still like all the NAV/SID/STAR parameters in listed up with a short explanation !I know for sure that these questions have not only been adressed by me !Ex: Is it possible to use a parameter for an "ARC DME XX" in a SID/STAR ??http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/22494.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/22495.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/22496.jpgSteinar
