Frame Rates (Sorry, not to beat the proverbial dead horse)

Featured Replies

All,I had made an earlier posting for NVIDIA owners on drivers and how they may be able to improve performance by adjusting the versions (trying different ones). Probably back on page 7 by now!Shortly thereafter, another posting appeared on Virtual Memory settings. Well, after combining the two theories together, I have combined my frame rates.I wanted to leave one last remark on helping your systems out:I moved to the 40.41 driver for nVidia and also followed the other posting on letting Windows manage my VMM settings. 44.03 was death to my GPU. I was skeptical on the latter but the results were shocking. I am steady at 20 where it

..yeah, but you also have 1Gb RAM. It seems to me that THAT is where the real issue. I have 512Mb and I have tried every permutation of VM management and nVidia driver and it makes little difference. This thing is simply a RAM-hog and that seems to me to be the only issue. Whether it NEEDS to be a RAM-hog is another issue....

Agreed. I was hoping that this posting may help a few.Just trying to share some information for those who may be having issues. I have read some postings to the effect that the drivers and VMM adjustments have helped those with memory levels of 512 and above. We are all here trying to help each other out until the leak is fixed.Performance monitor and a free-ware system leak utility I use for programming shows that there IS a significant leak in the application; specifically related to the VC. Oddly enough, leaving the VC to another view (such as back to the 2D cockpit), drops the utilization of the pool-paged and non-paged allocated / unallocated bytes. Only PMDG will be able to fix that.Thanks. Sorry it did not work for you. Just trying to help!:-beerchug...Good Day.http://www.clearedasfiled.com/images/simpics/cirrus.jpgwww.flightfactory-simulations.comHomepage at www.clearedasfiled.com!
