July 5, 200322 yr Hello,I have purchased the 737NG today and made three two test flights so far. Since I have only experience with the PSS A320 so far, I would say I have some knowledge of programming FMCs, but the FMC from the 737 brings me to my limits :-).Here are my two questions:1.)This should be pretty easy to solve but I couldn't figure out how. How do you enter via/to tags into the route page of the FMC?2.)From the MCDU of the Airbus I am used that a STAR brings you right to the entry of the glide slope of the selected runway. The 737 FMC directed me to the airport locations in my two attempts. Is this the normal way or did I program something wrong? Thanks for the help!PMDG, except from the few known problems, this is an awesome product. It's pretty cool to see the autopilot landing on a dime :-).kind regards,Christian
July 5, 200322 yr Hey Christian,1. Go to RTE PAGE then press Next page example : UN850 WRBenter UN850 and press 1 Key on the left side and than on the other enter WRB on the 1 Key on the right. 2. When you select the runway there is below the runway you selected a indication where you enter the distance to runway. Should be approx. 12 NM but not less than 4 NM this is maybe dangerous.I
July 5, 200322 yr thanks a lot Till, I can enter the routes easily now and figured out how to add that point, although I couldn't get it to work in combination with a STAR.regards,Christian
July 6, 200322 yr As you can see in my signature line I am a PSS freak! I fly the PSS A3xx mostly and I am currently on my way from ORD to EGLL in the 777. I was raised on Boeing FMCs and when I went to the Airbus I almost died out of frustration. Today, I trained two guys on the A320 who were die-hard Boeing guys. One exlaimed 100 times during this "IF it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!" and many other expletives LOL! Both are very profiecient in the PSS Boeing birds and the Wilco PIC 767. After two flights, they are hooked on the PSS A320! Christian, I say all of this to boil it down to this: Boeing is Boeing and Airbus is Airbus and that is the way it goes. The FMC on the 737TNG is accurate and faithful to the real deal. I agree, evertime I go to the RTE to enter my via/to I think "This is weird." However, that is Boeing. In the PSS 747/777 you don't even get that pleasure. You must enter every waypoint or do as I and import a fS2k2 which is pre-planned from FSBUild or FSnav. July 6, 200322 yr Thanks Wilson. That was a nice expression between the differencesof those FMCs.Although programming the Boeing FMC didn't frustrate me, it's quitedifficult to figure out the fine tuning. I guess it was the same waywith the Airbus FMC but in that case I had to start from zero :-).Thanks,Christian
