No radio beacons in saved situation

Featured Replies

Hi guys,Yesterday I downloaded the AIRAC 0304 update and the SID/STAR database. Everything works just fine in some cases, but not in some others. I saved a flight to have a cold and dark cockpit situation, but if I start that one and after getting the cockpit ready I try to tune any radio beacon, they will not show on the ND. Oddly enough the ND will show the symbol for the beacon at the right place, but it won't show that it is tuned to the right beacon by showing its identifier and its distance. Not on the ground and not in the air.I've tried this with some other saved situations and the same happens every time. If I start from scratch by creating a flight and choosing the PMDG737 there is no such problem, at the very same airports and the very same beacons and frequencies.Any clues?Leo Bakker

Hi Leo,is the ND in Plan mode or Map mode? You get to see the identifiers with DME reading in Map mode but not in Plan mode, at least that's how it is on mine.Regards,Bjorn

Hi Bjorn,No, that's not the problem. In fact I just tried again and can now give the following outline of what happens:- I create a flight from scratch, choosing the PMDG737. Without any change to any of the buttons I save this situation as number 1.- I continue with situation 1 to create a cold and dark cockpit, and save this as situation number 2.- If I continue with situation number 2 and put the power back on, there is no problem. All the radio beacons are there.- If I shut down FS and my computer, then start up again and choose situation number 1, all the radio beacons are there.- However, if I do the same but choose situation 2 instead, no radio beacons will appear. In summary, I cannot create a cold and dark scenario and then expect it to run properly. In fact, I've had some more anomalies that I feel can be contributed to the fact that the sim seems rather sensitive to being started other than from the default situation.Could some one from the development team comment on this? Thanks!Leo Bakker

Since only Bjorn was kind enough to look into my problem I decided to do some more tests myself :-) I'll start another thread on what I found: it has to do with saving a situation with the overhead and other panels docked on a 2nd monitor.Leo Bakker
