July 14, 200322 yr I was surprised to learn today, that on the real 737 it's possible to put the speedbrake lever in the full UP position in flight (i.e. move it past the Flight Detent position). This is definitely different from the 747-400 which only allows the lever to move to the Flight Detent position. Moving the lever to the UP position on a 737 won't allow the Ground Spoilers to deploy, however. These are mechanically locked out until the weight of the aircraft is on the main landing gear.BTW, 737 pilots never use this position in flight, even in an emergency descent, so there's no need for a simulator to model this ;-)Another piece of 737 trivia ;-)Cheers.Ian.
