Problem with generator switches

Featured Replies

Hi!Sorry if this issue has been brought up earlier. I have searched the forum, but didn't find any posts mentioning this particular problem. After starting the engines (following the checklists and instructions) I have a problem switching from APU generators to ENG generators. If a move the GEN1/2 switches to the ON position, nothing happens. However, if I first move them to the OFF position and then back to ON, it works (then I hear the clicking relay sound). Is this the way it is supposed to work?Regards,Christian Fredriksson

Hi Christian,I've had a similar situation. I had saved a cold and dark situation and when I used it again, the generator switches were locked in the up (= off) position, which is odd since these switches are spring-loaded to neutral. The only way to get them to go down is to first push them up, even though already are up!?No, this is not how it is supposed to work. Meanwhile, you have found the temporary solution yourself :-)Leo Bakker

Hi Leo,It seems to be exactly the same problem as I have. Looking closer at the generator switches, they're actually stuck in the off position. Have you found the cause of the problem? I'm also using a saved cold and dark situation (cessna with everything turned off except the avionics switch)./Christian

Well, I do have some clue about the cause of the problem. The word has three letters and it start with a "b" and ends with a "g" :-)Leo Bakker

So i guess the solution would be a five word letter that starts with a "p" and ends with an "atch" ;-)/Christian
