August 1, 200322 yr Hi guys,I was at a buddies house a few weeks ago watching a cockpit DVD of a Varig 737NG. During landing, the GPWS callouts sounded different from the default Boeing callouts. They sounded deeper and for a lack of a better description almost "mellow." Did the PMDG team get the GPWS sounds from the 737NG CBT? I can't believe Boeing would actually have a customer option for the GPWS voice.Anyway, just something I thought I'd mention. It would be great hear them if it's possible. A minor issue I know ... but then again maybe not so minor by some standards. That is if you're a crazed, MSFS nut who nit picks every detail so developers and technology makers are constantly challenged and always pushing forward to bring our um... "hobby" that much closer to being "As real as it can get."I have enjoyed the public beta of the 737NG and can't wait until it's official release.Paul

For those that have heard a very much Englishwoman's voice announce "Radio Altimeter" at 2500' on a British Airways aircraft instead of a male American announcing "Twenty Five Hundred", will surely have realized this.I've heard a 60' callout on a Cathay Pacific 747 which isn't even listed in the Boeing Maintenance Manual. This would have been a special aural for the approach to Hong Kong's Kai Tak.I've heard a combination of mellow and less-than-mellow on the _same_ aircraft. The newer mellower Enhanced GPWS "CAUTION TERRAIN" aurals seem to be spoken by a different guy from the older PULL UP aurals. Some aurals seem to have a very American accent, whilst others have a more neutral accent. So, basically what I'm trying to say is.....Yes, they are customizable on the real aircraft, for voice (accent/male/female) and for the types of callouts made (including different heights). Most seem use the standard manufacturer's callouts, but it's not a limitation when the aurals are programmable. I don't know, however, if you can customize them yourself in PMDG.Cheers.Ian.
