August 3, 200322 yr When flying along on a flight plan in LNAV/VNAV, how can someone go direct from their present position to a fix (either a fix later in the route or a separate fix)? An example would be when ATC gives you a "shortcut" along your route.I know I can delete some intermediate waypoints from the FMC flight plan, but I can't delete the current active waypoint, which means I need to reach it before the airplane would head for the assigned fix.Second, I sure hope the SID/STARS get posted on the site again soon.-TimP.S. A great product!
August 3, 200322 yr Tim,Regarding your first question:If you are cleared for a shortcut direct to a waypoint that is part of your route, you would just press the LSK beside the appropriate waypoint on the appropriate LEGS page, and then press the LSK 1L on page 1 of the LEGS page to bring the destination waypoint to the top. This way the FMC will immediately command a turn direct to the new active waypoint. To fly directly to any waypoint during an active route, you always need to put in your desired waypoint at the top of the first LEGS page. Just type the waypoint's ID into the scratchpad on the CDU and hit LSK 1L on page 1 of the LEGS page. Unitl the complete package is made available again by PMDG, you can find some procedures on www.navdata.at.Hope that helps.Regards,Zoltan HegedusBudapest, Hungary
