FIRST FS9 INSTALL - GOODnewsBADnews

Featured Replies

First the good news. Just got FS9 today and installed it. Using latest Omega drivers (based on 3.6 Catalyst). Reinstalled PMDG 737 for FS9. Started up in 2D cockpit ok. However, when I switched to VC no gauges in some places (holes in panel - at least there was a lot of ventilation - lol!) and black windows for other gauges. Oh, oh. Changed the Omega driver to true-blue 3.6 from ATI site - still same problem plus other display problems. I then reinstalled Catalyst 3.2 and.....PERFECT. Beautiful changing those gauges and turning switches from VC. Thanks PMDG, she's a beauty in FS9.Now the bad news. Some of you may be familiar with my livery problems. I've posted on this site and sent emails to PMDG all responded to cordially and helpful. However the problem has never been solved under FS2002. I thought FS9 and a fresh install under FS9 would help. No go. Again, I get the liveries. I installed AeroMexico and what a beauty. Took her up and again the gears would not go up. I Installed the three entries in the winglet 737-700 as noted numbering the consecutively (6,7,8, by the way the instruction incorrectly notes 6, 8,8). Shows up in the preview, shows up beautifully in FS9 itself - only thing the gear will not retract. This is quite dispiriting. I've installed MANY liveries over numerous planes and never have encountered this problem. I'm almost thinking it's related to my peculiar ATI card. I have the Radeon 9700TX 128 mb. a very capable but slightly dumbed down 9700 Pro. Of course I have to completely reinstall the config. file to get it back to normal - not just remove the entries. I'm stumped and so is everyone I've talked to. Other then that BIG loss though, she still is a very beautiful plane and nice to fly (non-liveried that is).P4 2.8 ghz, 533 FSB, 1 gig DDR ram, Radeon 9700TX 128 mb, 200 gig drive.

Something else came up. It seems that the driver was not the problem after all. When I first used the 3.6 it was with the liveried, AeroMexico, 737. When using 3.2 Catalyst now I went back to that livery and noticed the missing gauges and holes in the panel. Weird. Could someone please copy and paste your aircraft config file for the Aero Mexico livery so I can see what the porblem is? Just that livery will do.ThanksLen
