August 18, 200322 yr Just a quick question. I searched the forum listings and the manual, but can't seem to pin it down...If a heading is selected in the heading box, why can't I push the "Heading" button and have it roll to that heading. I can only seem to get Heading Hold to work on the current heading or LNAV, but not just a directional hold. Maybe it's not an option with the 737NG, but I know it works on the -400 and 777, so I thought it would work on this Boeing as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.MickeyKLAS
August 18, 200322 yr Perhaps you should describe exactly what you are doing or include a screendump of your MCP. HDG SEL mode works fine for me.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 18, 200322 yr Mickey,In fact there is no heading hold like on the 757 or 767, only a heading sel... meaning if you select hdg sel, the aircraft *will* roll to the selected heading (provided the AP is in CMD mode). What you're describing is amazing, because it is like if there were no heading sel, but only heading hold...Do you have other problems that could lead to think that perhaps you have an installation issue ?anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
August 18, 200322 yr So it should be rolling out on the heading I put in the window with Heading Select button engaged and CMD mode? I was flying last night with FS2002 and it was flying straight and level with the Heading button selected to a different heading. Maybe just an installation error. I reinstalled it so many times with the problems I had with the patch not getting along with my Windows Me, that I might be on the original install. I'll check it out again. Thanks for your help.MickeyKLAS
August 19, 200322 yr Was HDG SEL displayed in green in the PFD? Always watch your mode indicators as they tell you what is actually engaged instead of what the MCP is set to do next year some time when engaged.Should get a pretty green box around it as displayed here when you turn it on by clicking HDG SEL on MCP (to indicate mode has just changed).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31621.jpgRay
