I am disapointed, I believed that my pc could handle 737 NG in fs9 with an installation exactly as prescribed, but after nearly every 'settings-combination' I am about to give up. I get 3 to 8 fps in VC, and 10 to 15 in 2D.With default aircrafts I get high fps with all sliders to the right.I have: xp pro. P4 1.6/512 GF-4, Ti 4400/128 the latest driversWhat is wrong and what shall I look fore if I buy new??Regards Ole

Hi Ole,I'm not sure I can give much of an answer really. First, it depends on what you're willing to spend. Are you wanting to build your own system? Or are you wanting to buy a pre-built brand name system? For building your own I wouldn't know what to tell you exactly as I haven't researched just what the latest and greatest motherboard to get is. But I'm sure some other guys in here know. I'm an Asus and Intel man myself and built my previous system with an Asus motherboard. The one I have now is a pre-built system from Alienware and also has an Asus motherboard. Anyway, I bet if you answer those first two questions a number of people will give you their informed opinions.Take Care,One Tin SoldierTouch my 737TNG and I'll break yer legs

Hi one tin soldier!I was afraid no one would answer. I will build my own ( with help from an expert friend). I just want to be sure that it will work in connection with FS.I want to have a some sort of a second parallel system only for flying, and reasonable money is not the big problem. I will be very glad for any suggestions.Regards OlePS: and of cource Thank's for you answer

Hello Again,Well, I'll just go off of other posts I have read. People suggest that if you can afford it, get a mother board based on the 875 chipset. If you need to spend less, then one based on the 865. The ASUS P4 Deluxe would be a great 875 board. MSI motherboards are looking pretty good or maybe a Abit IC7 (I think). Get a CPU with Hyperthreading, preferably a 3.06 GHz or higher. The only higher speed right now might be a 3.2 GHz. But I think there are a couple advancements in the 3.2 besides just speed. Not sure what kind of ram that takes, but the motherboard/chipset dictates what kind. As far as brand, go with Corsair if money is not an issue. If not Corsair then maybe get Crucial, or perhaps Kingston. Don't get cheap ram. I recommend getting an Intel Pro 100S network adapter, Creative Sounblaster Audigy 2 Platinum soundcard, and Radeon 9800 Pro videocard. If you're going to get a DVD Burner, I recommend getting a Sony. If you are like me and like Force Feedback joysticks, get a MS Force Feedback Pro 2 as MS will not be making them anymore and they will all be gone soon. But then, I wouldn't doubt if you are already happy with whatever joystick you already have. These items and brand names I'm recommending are not cheap. They are the expensive stuff. But I feel if when I'm going to get a new system, it might as well be top of the line because I'll be happier with it for a lot longer. As for a monitor, I've heard response times of Flat Panel LCD's have come down to where they are pretty attracive for gaming now. I've always gotten CRT's and have always gotten a NEC. Sony's are very nice too. But there's a wide selection out there in the way of monitors and perhaps someone else can suggest one better than me. You can probably get a bigger display for your money with a CRT type than an LCD. I have a 22 inch and love it. Hopefully this all this will give you something to go off of at least and maybe some other people will chime in with recommendations too. But if you start getting overwhelmed with suggestions, just go with what I recommended! :-bigangelOf course this is all just what I like. You have to decided for yourelf what is best and what you like, of course. So you might want to do some research about what is the latest and greatest, what latest is all about and read some reviews and stuff on the Internet. A lot of people check out Tom's Hardware at http://www.tomshardware.com/ and Anandtech at http://www.anandtech.com/ for this kind of thing.Well, I guess that is about all I can think of to say for now.Good Luck Ole, :)Jimmy Richards
