What is this and where >do I find these values in ILS map!>Yours,>Markus Makela>Markus,The RWY EXT is a convenience that lets you create a waypoint on the extended centerline of the runway at the distance you specify.Normally, if you were flying an ILS approach you'd put one or more of the fixes in the approach into your route by adding them on the LEGS pages. But, let's say you're going to make a visual approach. Setting a 5 NM RWY EXT would create a point 5 NM out from the end of the runway on the inbound course and make that the next to last point on your flight plan, the last point being the runway threshold. Thus, you'd now have a straight-in approach programmed, and if you keep the aircraft in LNAV mode, you will only have to manage airspeed and altitude, and have very little manuevering to to on the final approach segment. In contrast, if you don't set a RWY EXT fix or add the ILS fixes to the plan, LNAV will take you on a direct route from your last waypoint to the end of the runway, and this route will likely NOT be aligned with the runway.Hope this is clear now.-Tim MetzingerCommercial Pilot
