See the things you can do with multiple monitors!

Featured Replies

Hi all,As real as it can be for the budget types!I'm waiting for PMDG to make a fix for multi-monitor support, until then I simply drag the windows where I want them. My forecasted upgrade project will consist of purchasing a 21" LCD monitor for the overhead panel and building a mid-console with a NAV/COM panel and dual throttle quadrant. Here are the images of my current 737NG cockpit set up. I use one 21" CRT monitor and one 15" CRT monitor. CAUTION! IT'S ADDICTIVE!!! :-)http://home.bresnan.net/~atc01/Images/MY737NGSIM_PIC1.jpghttp://home.bresnan.net/~atc01/Images/MY737NGSIM_PIC2.jpghttp://home.bresnan.net/~atc01/Images/MY737NGSIM_PIC3.jpgRegards,Chad C. Nice! I have two monitors layed out in a similar fashion to yours, and I would never go back to simming with one monitor :D

No doubt about that. Also, I sent you an e-mail about your tutorial. I look forward to your reply via e-mail.

Hi Chad, Would you mind stating what hardware, I am thinking in terms of graphics card(s), you are using for this. Are you using two graphics cards? I have a ATi Fire with dual monitor support and am wondering if I could get the same effect. With thanks in advance :-waveBoaz Lev

My primary video card (connected to my 21" monitor) is a generic ASUS 32MB 3D Graphics video card. For my second monitor (15"), I use a very old video card, Stealth 3D with 4MB RAM and it does the job great--so yes, I use two video cards, one AGP (primary) and one PCI (Secondary). I'm running the 737NG on a Pentium 4 1.7Ghz processor with 512MB RAM and I get frame rates between 9 - 24fps. I plan to upgrade my video card to the GeForceFX 5900 with 256MB RAM soon, that will definately boost my frame rates! :-)Regards,Chad C.
