September 15, 200322 yr Captains,I've successfully flown the tutorial with the 0309 data, but some surgery was required on the KSTL SID/STAR file. I've asked for permission to upload the fixed file, but in the meantime, here's how you can duplicate my fix.First, you need the 0309 NavData from Richard Stefan's site at www.navdata.at. Be sure you have update #2, as he (gracefully) corrected some errors in the earlier version.Next, you need the 0309 SID/STARS from the PMDG website, in the information center. The problem with these files is that neither of them nor FS9 match reality. KSTL has three runways:12L/30R12R/30L02/24FS9 adds 13/31 and 17/35.Richards data has 13/31, but not 17/35.The SID/STARS data has both 13/31 and 17/35.Sigh - I don't know what the proper answer is here. I'll post some things on the FS forum and maybe in the future we'll get a patch to make FS9 match reality. In the meantime, we have to make the AIRAC NavData and the SID/STARS match each other, so to make this all work, you need to edit the KSTL file, and remove all references to runway 17 and 35. You can do this by searching for RNW 17 and RNW 35 and replacing them with nothing. While this will allow you to fly the tutorial, there are SO many other discrepancies between the NavData and the SID/STARs, that I'm going back to 0308, and I recommend you do so as well. Since the FS "world" is static unless you add new scenery, there's no harm using "older" nav data.I believe that Richard's said he's going to use his "new" tool in the future, which may give data extracts that match FS9 better.Oh, and let me make this clear - this is not a complaint towards Richard - I appreciate all his hard work very much.
September 15, 200322 yr Hello Timothy,I just removed only the entries RNW 17 and RNW 35 in the Runways definition part of the KSTL.txt file and then it worked.Thank You for this hint and, btw, thank You very much for this great tutorial.Best regards,Wolfgang
