SID/STAR editing

Featured Replies

I have a few questions about editing the SID's:-In none of the files that I downloaded they used "INTERCEPT RADIAL", now, I tried to do that (it's written in the SID/STAR editing guide .pdf file) but I am doing something wrong: I wrote for example:SID RW24.LEKKO RNW 24 HDG 240 UNTIL 4.3 FROM NAVAID SPL HDG 154 INTERCEPT RADIAL 180 FROM NAVAID SPL NAVAID LEKKO 6000 INTERCEPT RADIAL 208 FROM NAVAID PAM NAVAID WOODY 19000 NAVAID NIK 20000what is wrong? in the .pdf there is stated it must be in the form of "hdg INTERCEPT RADIAL NB tofrom optaltfixentry " --> How do I that? what is optaltfixentry?-And second, how do I put in "at or above" or "at or below"?

Howdy>SID RW24.LEKKO RNW 24 HDG 240 UNTIL 4.3 FROM NAVAID SPL HDG>154 INTERCEPT RADIAL 180 FROM NAVAID SPL NAVAID LEKKO 6000>INTERCEPT RADIAL 208 FROM NAVAID PAM NAVAID WOODY 19000 NAVAID>NIK 20000>>>what is wrong? in the .pdf there is stated it must be in the>form of "hdg INTERCEPT RADIAL NB tofrom optaltfixentry> " --> How do I that? what is optaltfixentry? Here's a somewhat more understandable syntax.HDG INTERCEPT RADIAL NUMBER TO/FROM NAVAID NAME ALT Where HDG can be either a heading in degrees or KEEP HDG. NUMBER is the radial number of the navaid or fix (NAVAID NAME). The ALT is an optional altitude. The TO or FROM keywords can be confusing. If you think in terms of the real world definition of a radial you would use the FROM keyword. I always use FROM. For example: HDG 345 INTERCEPT RADIAL 260 FROM NAVAID SGY 12000This means that the plane will fly a heading of 345 degrees to intercept the 260 radial of SGY at 12000 Ft. The TO keyword is harder to explain. It is sort of opposite the FROM keyword. For example the following two commands produce the same result. HDG 345 INTERCEPT RADIAL 90 TO NAVAID SGYHDG 345 INTERCEPT RADIAL 270 FROM NAVAID SGYThe radial number used with the TO keyword is 180 degrees from the radial used with the FROM keyword. You could think of it as the reciprocal of the real world radial.>-what is optaltfixentry?Simply means a NAVAID NAME or FIX NAME with an optional "AT" altitude restriction. Examples: NAVAID TYJ No alt restriction. FIX JUMBO 12000 Arrive at JUMBO at 12000 Ft >-And second, how do I put in "at or above" or "at or below"?Not possible. Only "NO" restriction or "AT" restriction is available.Good luckTerry
