September 20, 200322 yr I just tried to get more into the SID/STAR language and found a strange problem at the LSZH example file lszh.txt.Look at the SID WIL3A for RNW 32, the text is : SID WIL3A RNW 32 KEEP HDG UNTIL 2 FROM NAVAID KLO HDG 332 UNTIL 3500 NOT BEFORE 4 FROM NAVAID KLO HDG 245 INTERCEPT RADIAL 192 FROM NAVAID TRA NAVAID BREGO NAVAID WILThe problem seems to be in the part "UNTIL 3500 NOT BEFORE 4 FROM NAVAID KLO", which shall mean : "at KLO 4 DME or 3500ft, whichever is later". Look at the FMC, the program puts the (3500-KLO-4) point at 7 NM (!!) after (KLO-2), because it obviously calculates to reach the 3500 ft that late (manually flown I reach ot much earlier). What comes then (turn left 245, then intercept TRA R-192) doesn't lead to a normal turn, but to a rather strange construct (see ND) to get from (3500-KLO-4) to (INTC), maybe because the turn at that late stage is too tight ?Not sure what the problem is in this case ? Is it the pessimistic climb rate used for the calculation ?The other problem I found : If I fly this SID in a 10 NM range for the ND, the route suddenly gets expanded automatically by a huge factor, then comes back to normal 10 NM scale. The scaling doesn't stay constant, hard to explain, but reproducible. Could you guys just test fly it ?However, here are the pics :http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38006.txthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38007.txt
September 21, 200322 yr Nobody else have this problem ? I'm running into some whenever there's a UNTIL xxxx NOT BEFORE yy construct soon after takeoff. Some questions : See picture, after inserting a SID from the DEP/ARR page, the FMC forces me to enter a waypoint next (see the boxes). Why can't I enter an airway ?Example : BIBOS1N BIBOS UZ29 NIK ...Last Waypoint in SID is BIBOS, but of course I can't make a double entry BIBOS to continue. Putting something after the Route Discontinuity is invalid and removing the Discontinuity doesn't give me an Airway entry right after BIBOS either. Can be solved with putting in the next waypoint after BIBOS of course, but normally I wouldn't have to enter this. Did I miss a trick for this ?Next question : Will we get AT or BELOW constraints in SU2 ?Mike
