Hi Gang, I'm taking this opportunity to say THANKS. I was almost ready to bag this product becuase of a lot of reasons. Thank my lucky SIDS/STARS I did not. The tutorial that Tim has done really helped me out so much. I really had no idea that this product was fully capable of doing what it can do. Anyway, I just thought KUDOS were due. Thanks again.Ron CIntel P-4 1.8 Gig512MB PC2100 DDRAMMSI G-Force 4 128MB19" MonitorSB Live ValueForcefeedback StickIs it ever enough?

Thanks again. Thanks very much, I'm glad you found it useful, and I'm glad you didn't give up on the airplane - it's really great. There will be a V2 of the tutorial when SU2 is released - it will probably take a week or two to put it together, but it will cover the basics and I'm planning on adding (presuming SU2 works as hinted):More detailed in-flight rerouting (intercepting an inbound or outbound course to a waypoint, like joining an airway). An enroute diversion to a new airport.A VOR approach using LNAV/VS.A go-around/missed approach.A DME arc approach using LNAV/VNAV.An explosive decompression and rapid descent (high dive).I'm also open to suggestions - any other procedures?

Tim,I could not help but jump in here and add my many thanks to you for your well thought out and informative tutorials. After having flown the DF737 since it inception, I am more pleased than ever to made the move to the PMDG 737NG. Please don't wait for SU2! YOur tutorial is like an adventure. I welcome more of them as I learn this fabulous aircraft. Many Many thanks,Scott MenardHouston, TX

Tim, your tutorial is a marvel. Even though I have plenty of help from Mr Bulfers guide you are very good at explaining difficult topics more easily. As for additions, I have a few ideas. I am currently working my way through the latest dvd from Videoflyrec entitled "Difficult IFR appraches", and some of them are real crackers that would teach people a lot ( and probably make them crash a lot too!!!). Some examples are the VOR/DME appraoch to Funchal, the Circle to Land at NICE, and the ARC DME ILS at Alicante. They are all done with default aircraft or the df737 and are great fun and very informative. The other topic that I would like to see covered you have already mentioned - dir intc. There is a lot about this in the bulfer guide but it is a very complex subject. Do you know if cost index is to be modelled as well, because that is an often underused facility for getting there on time?cheers, looking forward to su2 and the new tutorial ( you must have a very understanding wife, mine despairs!)ant

I thought I'd chip in to say my thanks for your super tutorial as well. It has really helped me learn how to use this wonderful aircraft to a point where I'm starting to enjoy it immensely! Thanks Timothy - and I'll be looking forward to V2 sometime in the not-to-far-away future. :)

The tutorial is very well written. Timothy Metzinger has a talent for writing tutorials; he knows how to explain things so that they both be understood and remembered. It must have taken so many evenings to write that tutorial, and I thank Timothy for all his efforts. Without his tutorial, I don't know when I would ever have started using the FMC.I caught one small detail on the TAKE OFF page, where it says ---- / 20C at left LSK1. Should the corresponding Fahrenheit temperature have been in the ---- part of that line? Should we put it ourselves, or is it a bug that it is not put automatically?Kind regards,Nico

I explicitly left it out of V1 of the tutorial when I discovered that it didn't work correctly in all cases.Since I'm based in the US, and trained to fly in accordance with US rules, you can expect my tutorials to be based at US airports - it's the only way I can talk about the flight environment and not get a lot of (deserved) complaints. With that in mind, KBWI's got a REALLY complex DME arc approach that I'll probably use.
