ILS freq.

Featured Replies

Is it possible to make the 737 autotune the ILS freq.? When flying other advanced planes, souch as various PSS planes, the freq. and ILS course tunes automatically when selecting approach and rwy in FMC.Torbjoern

No sir, the real life NG does not have ILS autotune. So, the PMDG 737 does not have autotune either :)

Torbjoern,When you have your FMC setup correctly it shows the ILS freq. on the approach page.Just check and dail your NAV1 and NAV2 to these frequencies. Not much more work compared to autotune of PSS assuming you also check the FMC for the correct ILS freq. in the RAD/NAV page when flying the Airbus.Haromo

Can you please specify this a little bit more? I think I have my FMC correctly, but I can not find any ILS freq. or course.Torbjoern

Hello TorbjoernAfter you have entered your runway for landing in the FMCDEP/ARR page, you select the INIT/REF page. On the bottom ofthis page you will see frequency and course for the runway. Then you set the frequency on NAV1 and NAV2 in the radio stack.Jan FredrikSAS807

Just a quick note, be sure to always have the IAP with you always DOUBLE CHECK this frequency with the IAP like they would do in the real world. Once I had it give me a wrong frequency, and once I had it give me a frequency for a runway that as it turned out did not have an ILS. I believe this is due to an occasional error in the navigation data files. I guess with all that data you have to expect the occasional error. :)-Shaun
