Another FMC bug

Featured Replies

Hi, me again...So, there I was tring to find a workaround to the PROGRAM ERROR I just reported. I changed the plan in FSNavigator (changed the airport entry by a runway entry). I exported to EBBREGKK002 and tried to load that in the FMC (EBBREGKK001 was still loaded). The FMC seemed happy to load the new plan and lit Activate and Exec. The problem is that when I click Activate, the Exec light goes off, and the activate prompt stays there. Apart from that, the DEP/ARR and then LSK1L work OK this time (and the runway is correcly selected). So, it seems that the PROGRAM ERROR bug happens when one export a plan (from FSNav to PMDG) without departure runway in it. I guess this should work, shouldn't it? What I want to do is prepare flight plans using FSNav, but do not set runways yet. I will then export the plan to FS2004 and PMDG. I can then load it into FS2004 flight planner and into the FMC. I then activate ATC to get the departing runway and put that information in the FMC.Eric L.

Please see my response to your previous post regarding the PROGRAM ERROR message. It is an issue in the FMC and has nothing to do with loading a flight plan without a runway in it.I've seen the other problem you mention above when you try to load a new flight plan with an existing one already loaded. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just that you're using the wrong procedure (maybe someone else can comment on the correct procedure on the real FMC). I can get it to work 100% of the time by using the following procedures:To load a flight plan from an RTE file:1) Make sure you have no flight plan loaded. If you do, delete it with the procedure below.2) Make sure the file is in the PMDGFLIGHTPLANS directory.3) Go to the first RTE page in the FMC.4) Enter the name of the RTE file (without the extension) on the scratch pad.5) Select the CO ROUTE LSK to load the plan.6) Select the ACTIVATE LSK, then hit EXEC.To delete a loaded flight plan:1) Change to the first RTE page.2) Put DELETE in the scratch pad by hitting the DEL key.3) Press the ORIGIN LSK. This will delete the CO ROUTE entry and set the ORIGIN and DEST to the input required boxes.4) Hit EXEC.Aaron
