November 16, 200322 yr Hello,I have a quick question. I have flown a bunch of flights with no problem using the wonderful features in the FMC. Today, I was planning a flight from KIAD to KBOS and I went to enter an airway (Specifically j225) and it said "Not in Database." Now, I haven't changed the location of my files, they all exist in the Fs9/FMCWP/NavData directory. I even looked at the text files to verify that this airway was contained in there. Just to see if it was a problem with that airway, I tried an airway that I used the previous day which I knew worked and it gave me the same error message, "Not in Database." Anyone have any ideas how all of a sudden I lost my database of airways? I haven't touched or moved a thing. THanks for the help.Ryan Winterbourne
November 16, 200322 yr First idea, off the top of my head...Have you entered a valid airway origin fix for J225, such as in :DIRECT TOTOJ225before entering J225 ?anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
November 16, 200322 yr Hello Anthony,That may have been one of my problems. I am not getting a "Not in Database" error anymore but am now getting an "Invalid Entry" error when trying to put the j225 in place of the direct to ORW. Here is what my FMC looks likePRYME1.WOOLY WOOLYDIRECT VCNDIRECT ORWWOONS1 KBOSI am trying to enter j225 in place of the DIRECT before ORW and it says "Invalid entry." Does this mean it is an invalid entry point for this airway? I tried putting in differrent points along the airway with the same result.
November 17, 200322 yr Alright, I figured out the problem. ORW wasn't on the airway. It was so close to it that it appeared to be on the airway but when I zoomed way in it was not. I added a waypoint on the airway before ORW as the exit point and it works now.
