December 11, 200322 yr And what if PMDG was a real airline huh ? They would have had a lot of pilots to pay every month !Hi guys (and girls)Just to post another (maybe ) useless post to make myself known as a new 737NG user. I love the plane and - MAN!!!! am i looking forward to SU2Will be posting some questions i guess as i'm still uncertain about some things ! ;)BTW - anyone know of a South African Airways Livery for the 700 with winglets ?Cheers
December 11, 200322 yr Just thought of my fisrt question...How do you set the Stab trim as per the value given by the FMC ?I can see it on the throttle lever window on the left ( and right?), but how do you move them ? If i try to , i move either the flaps or the speedbrake lever !! LOLThanks !
December 11, 200322 yr I have assigned a rocker switch on my CH Yoke to replicate the elevator trim switch on the real aircraft. You can do this from the FS menu, and it will be useable for all aircraft that you use - not just the 737.
December 11, 200322 yr Will you see the actual value it is at when you do move it ?Thanks for the reply by the way !Cheers !
December 11, 200322 yr Pieter,What to do is assign the Trim switches. Then open the throttle window.Next to the Stab Trim Display there is a white line - this moves as you change the trim setting, back means nose up forward means nose down.
December 11, 200322 yr Ok, fair enough.....So if the FMC says 5.25 degrees, does that mean move it until it is just over the 5 mark on the stab trim display (for a nose up pitch) ?Sorry of i test your patience :)Bye
December 11, 200322 yr you got it.However the FMC always displays that - I don't think they have the full W&B setup in the FMC.
December 11, 200322 yr Pieter,I don't think that this will appear in SU2.In the real world, the captain takes the TOW C.G. setting from the loadsheet and enters this into the Takeoff Ref page of the FMC. The FMC then automatically calculates the Stab Trim setting based on the TOW C.G.TOW = Take Off Weight.C.G. = Centre of Gravity. At work I use specialist computer software to compile loadsheets. This contains the necessary aircraft data to accurately work out the C.G position of an aircraft.
December 11, 200322 yr Thanks for the replySo for this 737NG we just don't set the Stab trims then ? Or do we need to set it at least to "SOMETHING" fake even though the FMC displays 5.25.Thanks
December 12, 200322 yr Okie dokie....will do !Will i need to bring it back to 0 ( neutral ) after takeoff, or will the FMC auto trim it as appropriate ?
December 12, 200322 yr If the autopilot is engaged, then it automatically trims the aircraft. If not then you have to - do not set the trim to neutral (0) position. This is outwith the safe operating area of the 737's trim range. Look at the Throttle Window. Notice the Green Band on the Stab Trim Area. Trim settings in this area are valid for the 737.
