SU2 Email is a Spam Detection Target

Featured Replies

HiJust in case this helps. The SU2 email is identified by Spam Assassin (used on many ISP email servers) as a spam target. On my server it was identied with the following attributes and diverted to a SPAM mailbox. You all may want to check your ISP's SPAM configuration if you do not receive the email.==============================================================Content analysis details: (5.5 points, 5.0 required) pts rule name description---- ---------------------- --------------------------------- 0.3 NO_REAL_NAME From: does not include a real name 2.8 MIME_BOUND_RKFINDY Spam tool pattern in MIME boundary (rfkindy) 1.4 X_LIBRARY Message has X-Library header 0.2 MIME_BOUND_NEXTPART Spam tool pattern in MIME boundary 0.8 PRIORITY_NO_NAME Message has priority setting, but no X-MailerThe original message was not completely plain text, and may be unsafe to open with some email clients; in particular, it may contain a virus, or confirm that your address can receive spam. If you wish to view it, it may be safer to save it to a file and open it with an editor.==============================================================

My SpamAssassin scored it even worse at 6.15.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Go to www.mozilla.org and get their browser/email client. Mozilla is the freeware remnant of Netscape Navigator and has an automatic pop up blocker as well as anti-spamming capability.Mozilla 'learns' (you teach it for a period of time) which one of your emails are spam and which are not, I really like it.

On my mail server, I run Spamassassin with the Bayesian filters, which gave this email a very low spam probability, which knocked it's spam score down to 1.2, so it made it through without being tagged as spam. The Bayesian filter is a fairly common filter used by ISPS so not all ISPs will tag this as spam. Definitely something to watch out for though.
