Coming from Airbus

Recommended Posts

Hi all!I just want to tell you that I came from the A3xx series and had some more or less serious problems getting used to the Boeing 737 system. Especially handling the FMC features along with pilot input during the descend and approach phase of the flight. Altough the FMC (MCDU) is different, basically it's the same steps you have to do pre-flight - not a real problem here. After lots of missed approaches ("why isn't it doing this automatically!!?") and other minor hick-ups I think I got used to the Boeing system finally. I'm still not mastering all the FMC features (Missed approaches, Holds, etc.), but I'm now able to go from A-B and manage to land this bird! It handles great! Some others here who needed to get used to the 737?I always was an Airbus fan and still am, but in the simulator the Boeings are more fun after all! Thanks for listening.Greetings,Steve

Well, just out of quite fun curiousity I myself have always been a 'pig' fan, and when I tried the A320/1 series from PSS I had a lot of problems getting used to that aircraft. I don't really fly the airbus these days, but it was a fun treat to try a different type of aircraft. I had the most problems with the Airbus MCDU, but these days if I want to I can get from point A to point B, barely! :)But glad you're enjoying the B737, it's a beautiful plane!
