when tracking inbound in the NG do i have to set the recipricol or does the NG have a advanced radial tracker and i dont?adamYou cant truley understand flying until you have actually tasted and felt it.

anyone? i tried today and the KLGA departure says track the 43 radial inbound to CANARSIE and i dial in 43 in course and press the VORLOC button and it turns around. then i dial in 223 and it follows it correctly. im kinda new to VORs and i tought that u have to dial in the recipricol.adamadamYou cant truley understand flying until you have actually tasted and felt it.

When tracking towards a VOR you set the course towards the VOR (ie in the direction the aircraft is heading) irrespective of whether the Radial you are on is the TO or FROM radial. When tracking from the VOR you set the course away from the VOR (ie in the direction the aircraft is heading) irresoective of whether the radial is To or FROM radial.Hope this helps.e.g.If you are heading towards a VOR from the North and are on the 360 Radial, then you must set the course to 180.Peter
