December 26, 200322 yr I'll add my kudos to SU2.Bought it out whe SU2 was released - it took a couple of weeks to get the aircraft down pat.But in a flight today from KSLC-KRNO, it all came together. From taking off in the soup of KSLC with 1/4 mile visability to the fun cable car ride down the mountain into Reno (have to fly that bad boy manually) at dusk while another SWA 737 shot a parallel approach - it was the most amazing experience I've had on FS.FS2004 and the PMDG 737 are truly a quantum leap in flight simming.ed rutledgekdfw
December 27, 200322 yr Ed,"Ain't it great! :) It really does astound me every time I fly this bird. Especially when everything goes RIGHT. I've had it since the day it was first released and still find new features(particularly since SU2). Just received Bill Bulfer's FMC manual today so back to learning some more.Enjoy it.
December 27, 200322 yr I know what you mean, Ed. I just completed a flight from KBWI to KISP. Upon approach the controller cleared me for a visual approach. I usually rely heavily on the ILS and autopilot but this time I decided to go ahead and try the visual. I switched off the autopilot and hand flew the approach. The plane flew superbly and I was able to manually adjust for a slight crosswind and set it down right on the centerline. I'll admit that I felt a certain degree of pride and satisfaction on accomplishing the manual landing. It really is an amazing airplane.Don
December 27, 200322 yr Yeah I finally got a chance to go up with it again tonight after having some multi-monitor problems all week. Absolutely amazing bird. I decided to fly her with no autothrottle like southwest orders them. What a blast it was! A lot of fun. Hand flew the entire descent and then landing. That CWS really comes in handy when the workload gets higher. I agree with this being the most amazing FS experience ever. __Josh
