Not possible to hold Auto/Throttle armed

Recommended Posts

Guest Andrea

Hi PMDG,I'm trying to fly by autopilot your 737 (V1.2 just bought) but have a problem: I cannot set Auto/Throttle in "armed" position. Everytime I press the A/T button it lights for a moment and then stays switched off. As a consequence cannot use TO/GA for takeoff and so on...OS: Windows XP PRO SP1Please, can you help me?Andrea

Have you swithced on the generators? They need to be online for the A/T to engage.Cheers,Kjell.

I do not start from a "cold and dark" cockpit, but from a flight created with a FS9 default flight with engines off. As soon as I load the PMDG 737 I can start the engines with "ctrl+E". I suppose that in this situation, the generators are already on, aren't they? How can I check if they are really on?Andrea

Andrea The generators are not automatically switched on when the engines are started you must switch them on manually. To check this go to the overhead panel and check that the engine generator online blue lights are exstinguised. If they are on then they are not supplying electrical power.Normally you would start the APU and select the APU generator toggle switch to bring the APU generator online. You would start the engines using APU bleed air and after engine start you would select engine generators because no auto switching is catered for unlike the B757,B767,B747 and B777.Read the manual this is a detailed aircraft with complex systems.Hope this helps. Regards Paul
