Challenging Airports

Recommended Posts

Guest

A while ago, someone posted about an airport in MSFS 2002 that was inside a mountain and almost impossible to depart from without circling to gain altitude first. I think it was in South America but I am not sure. Can anyone help? Thanks

I'm not sure of that exact airport, but you can check: http://www.dangerous-airports.com/ Maybe you can find it there.-------------lahso"The one fellow who is really broke in the air is the one who is out of both altitude and airspeed" -Wolfgang Langewiesche (Stick and Rudder)

Another airport that provides somewhat of a challange is West Papoose Lake in Alaska. The airfield is approx. 30 or so miles from Anchorage SSW, I think. Have fun.Regards, Crash

"In a mountain" made me think of Lukla, Nepal VNLK. Thr drop-off point for climbers and supplies for the trek up Mt. Everest. It's at 9,100'. Be sure to check your brakes before landing there. Taking off is no problem, you run out of runway, just dive to get you airspeed up. You'll see.Another challenging test for emergency landing is the field DC-Airways uses for new pilots to test their go-around skills. Get in HERE with a DC-3. 1F6-Dolgeville in New York.Cheers!Heather
