February 25, 200422 yr I am fairly used to operating a real FMC (since I fly real world) but not much experience in the heavys, mostly GA aircraft.Question is after I create my flight plan and set all waypoints to my destenition airport HOW DO I GET THE AP TO FOLLOW THE ROUTE? I have tried everything I know of and have printed out all 200 (or so it seems like) pages and read everything twice. Still cant get the darn AP to follow the flightplan. Any help would be VERY appriciated. I am not sure if this is an error with the install (since my frst install went south) or my missing something. In flight sim I am used to using the GSP to follow the waypoints but thats not an option here. Again any help would be nice!Thakns,Keith
February 25, 200422 yr Hi Keith,Ok this seems to me like you are pressing the wrong buttons on the mcp. When you are taking off and the aircraft is passing 1000ft you need to engage the autopilot A (or :( then to get the plane to follow the lateral track you must engade the LNAV button on the mcpIf you would like to use the altitude restrictions within your flight plan and speed refrences you will want to engage the VNAV button as well on the mcp! Now all going well the 737 will be following the instructions from your FMC providing it has been set up correctly in the pre flight :)Hope this helps if not just say and I will be happy to help out some more. (also prior to take off make sure the AT and FD switches are armed on the mcp.)Also have you tried Tim
February 25, 200422 yr Make sure you activate and execute it in your Route/ Legs page.So then the A/P can fly it. Check/activate/ execute. Howard
February 25, 200422 yr HiWhen the AP is selected select LNAV and the aircraft will follow the route. If you want to follow the TGT SPD select VNAV.ARKhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64687.txt
