February 26, 200422 yr Hi PSS,I read in a paper (Flightxpress) from the end of 2001 about a Boeing 777 for Fly 2. The report told about a good-made plane and the author was satisfied. Now I ask you: can you make a 777 for MSFS too, in the way like your fantastic 737? That would be great!greetingsKai
February 26, 200422 yr Kai,in case you haven't noticed, the 747-400 is coming up next. And after that, no plans have been made yet.Sincerely,
February 26, 200422 yr Oh sorry,I used the wrong name for you:-bang ! I read in the other forum before I posted! But I think, a good 777 would be very very good thing. The upcoming 747 of course too!greetings Kai
February 27, 200422 yr Greetings, Kai! (and all)PMDG made a fantastic B777 & B757 for Fly! II and making it seemed to take forever - but that was mostly due to anticipation I'm sure. However, considering the projects they list on their website I doubt that the MSFS community can realize a B777 from PMDG anytime within the next year, maybe two.However.... if you (or anyone here) would like to venture into the Fly! II world, give it a try! The flight modeling on the B777/757 is absolutely superb, and should not be passed up. The B777 comes in a few liveries and PMDG used to have livery packages which could be purchased and downloaded. I didn't see the packages on their website so I assume they're not selling them anymore(?)You should be able to find Fly! II (in the US at least) relatively inexpensively. If anyone decides to purchase it, please make sure to check the anchored post in the Fly! General Discussion Forum regarding installation, patches, etc... Here's a sample for you...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64872.jpgCheers!John BauderFly! II PCNew York, NYKLGA/[email protected]
February 27, 200422 yr Following through the logic of the electronics in the 737NG's, coupled with the electronics in the 747-400, you will pretty much have all the code done to flip out a 757/767 & a 777.It's really just a matter of time until all the Boeings get done as it would be rather silly from a cost recovery standpoint to not reuse the code as many times as possible.Just give it time, but I would bet that by FS 2006 leaving the gates we'll have our fill of heavies.Ray
February 28, 200422 yr "Following through the logic of the electronics in the 737NG's, coupled with the electronics in the 747-400, you will pretty much have all the code done to flip out a 757/767 & a 777."Wishful thinking, Ray... and this sort of statement will get people killed... in the real world. These aircraft are completely different under the skin, especially logic-wise. Don't be fooled by Boeing's display commonality (across their fleet). The 777 has some mind-boggling technology... and I wouldn't even pretend to know how to fix one, even though I'm reasonably familiar with it's predecessors.Incidentally, the technology behind some of the computers (made outside the Boeing factory) is so secret, not even Boeing is allowed to know about it (they just know how it interfaces with their stuff). The 747-400 will probably be PMDG's biggest challenge yet... I'd be very happily surprised if they had any steam left after programming something as complex as this.Cheers.Ian.
